Really nice to hear Hobbs and the team reached out with support that way. That’s what great leadership looks like.

Pike’s press conference should must listen for all our fans. He speaks at length about what the players go through from the swamp of social media and how it impacts them. He is all class. Some of our “fans” should reflect on what he has to say before posting their opinions of our or any student athletes. Pike is the best.
Way more important than anything that happens on the court. Coach is a mensch and so are his boys.
Not what counts in standings, but counts for something. Class move led by one of the top class acts in the game.
Steve Pikeiell is a very fine coach and even better person. Who wouldn't want their son coached by Steve?......" My father sent me to old Rutgers and resolved that I should be a man" ....on a team led by Steve Pikiell!!!

You are right I am one our biggest fans!
Rather than continue to try to explain where I was coming from, I will say that I personally have been embarrassed when I had a performance where I know for whatever reason I did not do my best. I used it to motivate me next time out.
That said the the fact that what I said came across as harsh to some of our other biggest fans, means that I should be more careful next time. As it may come across as harsh to our players. point taken. For the sake of our players who deserve our support and a bad outing from time to time to time. I am sorry. I don’t want to be responsible for sadness 😂 there is enough of that in the world.
Fran is a top notch coach no doubt. His half court offense is impressive. Some of their threes were fairly deep but they were taken in rhythm and none were heaves.

Thanks socal. It wasn’t really your post that I originally called out, but since you did agree with it…i disagreed.
Appreciate the back and forth, and totally understand your frustration.
But after naked free throws….a firing because of a snowstorm, a coach getting fired because of yelling at baseball umps..and the mike rice fiasco..calling a 10 point loss to a good conference foe shouldn’t be called embarrassing. We should know what embarrassing means..and today wasn’t it.

Fran gets a lot of hate on this board but he's my second favorite coach in college basketball.

He is a hothead but doesn't bring the bad vibes off the court. Coach Fran seems like a good dude off court. Just hyper competitive and has the Philly temper. He's still 100x more likeable than Juwan Howard who will end up getting himself fired at some point with his antics.
