Frazier & Somogyi Inducted to NJSIAA Hall of Fame

I wonder if there is another father daughter combo like John and Kristen in any state? A prime example of a perfect DNA trail.

Maybe somebody in Iowa on the girls side in the late 60's or early 70's, but don't know if their father's held scoring records. Girls BB was huge in HS back then and with the rules only a few girls took the majority of shoots. Plus the game was 6 on 6.
In 1968, Denise Long averaged 69 PPG and Jeannette Olsen 59. They met in the HS final in a game for the ages. Olsen's team won in OT, 113-107. Olsen had 76 points and Long 64.
Still a lot of points even if they took every shot

Not even close 63. Both were all time scoring leaders in New Jersey. She still is I believe .If he would have had the 3 he still would be as well.

Saw all 4 in college, would take Dabney and Moore any day for my team over John and Kristen. Not to learn the impact of there records, very impressive. My oldest daughter’s team actually played against Kristen in county tournament when she was a freshman. 16th seed vs 1 seed. Final score was something like 84 - 8.

Absolutely Maya Moore and Mike Dabney. What Maya has done in the WNBA all these years is amazing.

Not the same state, but Mike Dabney and Maya Moore is a pretty good father/daughter combo.

Not comparing the ability overall..I saw them all. Just on pure numbers. John was short slow could not jump but could shoot from anywhere. Again if he had the 3 oh my.

Yes, he was shorter and was an excellent shooter, but he had the uncanny ability to drive and get fouled. He couldn't jump higher than most of the guys he played against, but his timing was unbelievable. Probably averaged over 10 FTs a game and he was great from there. I played in quite a few pick up games with him at the outdoor courts at SPHS and one of my close friends was on the same HS team so I knew him pretty well. Even visited him at New Mexico when I was in the Army.
Too bad he couldn't do the same thing in college, but the players were bigger and he couldn't get to the basket like in HS. Still one of the best HS scorers I had ever seen and their games were always packed. Played at the Barn in the county tournament a few times and had great matchups with Brian Taylor from Perth Amboy.
Nice guy and a pretty good HS coach.

I remember one of those Amboy games at St Peters.
Started with St. Peters shooting free throws due to a technical foul being called on Perth Amboy
for DUNKING during warm ups

I remember Amboy with long red and white stripped warm up pants in the counties too.
