Friedgen?

RF has 1 foot in the grave and the other on a banana peel, quite possibly the most unhealthy looking human being I have ever seen near an athletic field. I don't think his heart could withstand another season of college football.
Interesting you would say that, because he was vehement that he had no health issues when he took the lesser role. "This would have been my 45th year of coaching and contrary to some of the reports that have come out, which I really don't appreciate because I'm not on my deathbed, you know, I'm not leaving for health reasons. And all you do is worry my family and my friends about that. I think it's kind of irresponsible to put that out,'' Friedgen said Tuesday, a day after news broke of his expected retirement.

Also, he was honored at the Peach Bowl, and he looked fine:

Since the offense is going in a different direction, I can see Ash not retaining Friedgen. But he was only being paid $50,000/year, and that's not a lot of money for his level of expertise.

Last title was special assistant to head coach Kyle Flood, and his contract expires on February 10, 2016.

Has Coach Ash reach out to him? Will he be retained in some capacity?

Fridge is an offensive genius compared to Flood. Why would Coach Ash need input from him. This is a whole new football here at RU. These new top Gun coaches are doing things their way and were taught well from great coaches.....

I would bet that his input last year was zero! He only was paid $50k, sounds more like a severance than a salary.

I kind of wonder if he didn't just turn around and donate that money right back to RU. I know I'd see Ralph Friedgen scrolling around the stadium banners when they list some of the donations and I'd swear his name showed up in the bracket that encompasses 50k.

Ralph was great...he never did anything that puts him in line for disrespect. He's not healthy. It might not have been something he brought on himself....now he's trying to live with it.

Ralph left strictly for personal reasons.

Ralph's offensive style is not something Ash is gonna go with.

I dont understand the crying for previous coaches. Move on please.

Ralph knew what he had for 2016 and with the new QB, it wasn't worth the hassle if you don't have the personnel.

What's the story behind this.. some animosity, something else?
What I heard was that he couldn't stand McDaniels.

I've also heard McDaniels was a little too full of himself.

Crying? It was a question. He is still under contract. Would it be unreasonable to get his opinion on a few things like the QBs and RBs? Everyone else has been accounted for in the prior coaching staff (I think).
