Iowa is a lot better than we are, and were the preseason favorites to win the west. It will be extremely unlikely saving some drastic things happening to them that the game will be close.

Maryland, Minn, and PSU are our best chances for an upset, but each can easily beat us.

Agree about New Mexico. Should be a good test against a team we should be more competitive against than Washington.

Iowa is currently ranked #17 (AP) or #15 (Coaches). Washington was #14 (AP) or #18 (Coaches). They will improve over the next few weeks, just like us. So it's likely to be a pretty rough game again.

But I think one area we're likely to be noticeably improved is on defense. Our linebackers will have three times the the game experience they have right now. And I thought our defense improved over the course of the Washington game.

So perhaps we can keep it somewhat closer than the Washington game.
