Today is the first day I can recall when Duke, North Carolina and Tennessee all were unranked (and only Tennessee is even receiving votes).

Big Ten

None

Other RU Opponents

#2 Notre Dame 73 #12 Florida State 66 - a pretty credible showing for the Seminoles

Other Ranked Teams

#3 South Carolina 66 Alabama 46 - never really out of hand until the end
#4 Baylor 78 #23 Oklahoma 70 - not quite this close, but still not a blowout

Also - It's Atlantic Sun night!

Stetson 77 Kennesaw State 62 - 3 straight for the Hatters
Florida Gulf Coast 91 Lipscomb 52 - Eagles not quite as dominant in A-Sun as UConn in AAC, but getting there
Jacksonville 75 South Carolina Upstate 69 OT - Spartans 2nd half comeback in vain
North Florida 72 New Jersey Institute of Technology 49 - not sure how Highlanders ended up in A-Sun

A-Sun standings up to the minute:

1. Florida Gulf Coast 13-0/25-4
2. Jacksonville 10-3/18-10
3t. Stetson 9-4/18-9
3t. South Carolina Upstate 9-4/18-10
5. Kennesaw State 5-8/10-18
6. North Florida 3-10/5-23
7. Lipscomb 2-11/5-23
8. NJIT 1-12/4-24

FGC would be a marginal at large candidate in a different conference, but a loss in the conference tournament pretty much would sink the Eagles, since no other team in the conference has an RPI better than 170.

There were no palindromic scores in 22 games today. That makes a total of 25 palindromic scores in 4,163 games so far this season. It's been seven annoying days since the last palindromic score.

I think that NJIT had no where else to go. Once it rose into the D1 ranks, it had difficulty pulling together a schedule - any team would nowadays, which is why even ND joins a conference for all but football. I couldn't understand why a northeastern based league like America East or, especially, the NEC did not invite NJIT. That would have made a lot more sense.

It turns out that this is the first time in 31 years - more than 3 decades! - that Tennessee hasn't been in the poll, going back to 1985. (Trivia: It was only the top 20 then.) That explains why I can't recall a time when the Lady Vols weren't in the poll.
