I am reminded that, contrary to my comment yesterday, the Ivy League is now holding a tournament, restricted to the top 4 teams. But let's look at the rest of the tournaments for now.

Big Ten

#4 Maryland 100 Michigan State 89 - 32 for Jones to lead the Terps
Purdue 71 #9 Ohio State 60 - 24 and 7 for Morrissette to pave the way for the upset

Other RU opponents

#13 Duke 57 #16 Miami 52 - close all the way
#25 Temple 67 Houston 58 - Fitzgerald led the Owls with 30 and 7 assists
Dartmouth 58 Princeton 56 - Tigers already had clinched 2nd seed in Ivy tournament
Seton Hall 73 Providence 60 - BEast 1st round game; Pirates get DePaul next

Other ranked teams

#1 Connecticut 105 Tulsa 57 - 30 wins for the Huskies
#2 Baylor 95 Texas Tech 63 - 50-27 2nd half for the Lady Bears
#3 Notre Dame 84 #14 Louisville 73 - Irish seem close to unstoppable
#5 South Carolina 89 #20 Kentucky 77 - 3 point game with 6:40 left
#6 Mississippi State 66 Texas A&M 50 - not really this close
#6 Oregon State 63 #15 UCLA 53 - A pair of late 3-pointers for Wiese sealed the deal
Oregon 30 #10 Stanford 26 4:48 2nd - upset brewing?
#12 Texas 71 Oklahoma 60 - 4 Longhorns in double figures
West Virginia 82 #19 Oklahoma 58 - 'Eers making a bit of a run in B12 tourney
#22 Drake 105 Wichita State 89 - 3 Bulldogs with 20+
#24 Kansas Stae 74 Iowa State 67 - 25 for Goth to pace the Wildcats

Also - a turn around the Ivy, plus one more

Pennsylvania 64 Harvard 46 - Quakers clinch 2nd Ivy regular season crown in a row
Brown 67 Cornell 46 - tied after 1st quarter, then Bears too control
Yale 66 Columbia 47 - big comeback by Elis in 4th quarter
New Mexico State 64 Texas Rio Grande Valley 46 - popular score today

Ivy League standings up to the minute

1. Pennsylvania (12-1/19-7)
2. Princeton (9-4/15-11)
3. Harvard (8-6/20-7)
4t. Brown (7-7/16-11)
4t. Cornell (7-7/16-11)
6. Yale (6-8/15-12)
7t. Columbia (3-11/13-14)
7t. Dartmouth (3-11/8-19)

There's only one game left in the schedule - Princeton v. Penn on Tuesday, so the seeding is locked and it looks like everyone in the conference has only 27 scheduled games. I'm not sure why this is. The Brown-Cornell game was for a spot in the Ivy tournament, as the Bears win whatever the tie-break is (probably head-to-head, since they won both games between the two teams).

Today

Other RU opponents 3-2

Year to Date:

Big Ten 115-59
Other RU opponents 208-115

There have been two palindromic scores in 81 games completed so far today. There have been 37 palindromic scores in 5,030 games this season.

1 - No. Oregon State vs. Stanford for the title, #1 vs. #2.

2 - Oddly enough, Arizona played New Mexico State who went undefeated in the WAC; conversely, Arizona played Florida Atlantic, who didn't win a single game in C-USA. Also oddly, played Alcorn State, which didn't win any OOC games (they did ok in the SWAC).

3 - In the article that mentioned the Ivy tourney, it said that - in order to have a tournament - all league teams were required to schedule less games because of the importance of balancing academics and athletics.

And update with the final score:

#10 Stanford 71 Oregon 56 - Cardinal had a bad 1st quarter, but righted the ship

So for the Ivy, basically what they did was trade the last weekend of regular season games for the tournament.
