So I see some guys seem to have first hand knowledge of what happens with the team. And some of us just speculate.

Can anyone help shed light on how the "in the know" posters came to be?

Sorry if this asking for too much info.

For one, I think two major posters (Josh and Bill) are both on the SKWC board of directors. So when wngarbarini says something or another, it's probably because he's literally sitting there in practice watching the guys go at it. There's a poster named SKWC, who I believe runs the SKWC board of directors.

Well that certainly clarifies things. Thanks!!

Yes I am on the Board and I also am the Editor of Knight Falls, the SKWC newsletter. I have told my story/bio on this board and on the Newsletter so no secrets. Graduated from RU in 1963 and MBA in 71. Have followed RU sportsincluding wrestling since the mid 50's so I have a lot of history in this brain which is still fertile and not failing yet. The SKWC is one of the finest organizations I have had the privilege to serve. The committee is made up of passionate wrestling fans and the most talented executives, myself excluded.. Our mission is to support the coaches, raise funds to help hire SKWC coaches and to chart a strategic direction to enhance the program. I am probably biased about the coaching staff because I have seen and been close to every staff since Dick Voliva in the 50's. We are realistic about where we are in relationship to other programs and we strive to reach the Iowa, PSU, OSU, Minnesota level. We believe we will get there but we need help to do so. Remember the SKWC is separate from the RU Development program. Yes I am at practice often and love all of these kids like they are my kids. I would adopt anyone of them. I can talk about certain things that are happening and when I go silent you will know the reason that I am not allowed to discuss. I am not all-knowing and some of my predictions stink like predicting OSU would beat PSU. Kudos to PSU on their achievements. I called out Cael at times on the Suriano thing because I knew what was happening so I call them as I see them. I feel badly that our boys have not done as well as expected but this has been a difficult year with injuries, missing weight and a host of things speculated and documented. The Big Tens and the NCAAs are still on the horizon so redemption is possible. If not, God willing, I will be here next year champioing our cause and doing all that I can to help and support.

Thanks for all the insight into the program that we ordinarily wouldn't have the privilege to have. Additionally, thanks for all you do in support of the team.

Dick's son Bill was my HS coach, and Bill's son Brian was a teammate!! Small world.

I always wondered how you knew so much. This helps a ton!!

I love the SKWC, my nephew did a camp this year with Rutgers and he raved about it. (read I had an 11 year old in my ear SWEARING he could take me now).

Much appreciated Bill!! For the info and the support!

to "repay" time and effort put in by Bill, and to give me something to do, if I came up with a way to do fantasy wrestling for conference tournaments and NCAAs, entrants buy in $10, winner gets donation of the pot to SKWC made in their name. Basically you get the tax break if you win. ALL MONEY GOES TO SKWC.

Is that permissible by the forum rules? Would there be any interest? If enough people are interested, it could be fun. I can come up with a system and figure out logistics on another thread.

Count me in. I have been to the last 40+ NCAAs so that is a passion of mine.

Bill, many thanks for informing people of you background and involvrment over the years. Since we are from the same era I know the passion you have not only for Rutgers but in all you do. All I can say is when WNG says something you can "take it to the bank" that it's not speculation unless expressed as such but based on fact and actual knowledge. And he often knows more than 90% of the posters and readers here and often withholds commenting so as to not fuel rumors which often are incorrect etc. Thanks always Bill for what you do for Rutgers. SKWC is in good hand under your leadership and that of SKWC president Brian Paich.....none better!

If you’re in the room every day then you must know Mulligan quit...why do you keep saying he isn’t medically cleared ... I knew three weeks ago he quit ..

As Bill has said countless times he will comment on the things he is either certain about (in the room) or is able to without further spreading gossip. There are reasons why he posts and he holds other things off the board. Kudos to you for knowing but most likely many more factors than just walking away.

Regardless of quitting or not quitting, he is and has been hurt. I have heard that from several people at this point.

Quitting and medically unable to wrestle are not mutually exclusive. Moreover, if this is a case of a kid who is not medically cleared to wrestle not doing what he is supposed to be doing as far as showing up at practice and rehab, etc., it may be more likely to be resolved than a kid who just walks away at a time when they are perfectly healthy.
