This would be a dynamic two-headed monster at quarterback. I love the running. Oden looked so quick out there. Gio looked like a bull. This is the shot in the arm the offense needs.

Lav is tough and courageous and I dont mean to imply anything negative but the offense looked so much more exciting when the Mobile qbs came in...I would imagine both Gio and T.O. could develop into passers who could be at least as effective as Lav has been.

I really hope the coaches see it the same way.

only one way to go from what we've had for the last season and two games...and that's up

Play Oden. His legs and comfort with the offense seem to outweigh his lack of experience and age.

This is a learning and implementation year. Implement him into the offense and let him get experience.

Well... I agree the offense looked great when they were in. But I have a feeling that Howard's players dropping like flies from injuries, including the second kid being carted off the field immobilized, and the Howard team looking like the walking dead throughout most of the second half probably had something to do with it.

But... the fact that we burned Oden's redshirt is very interesting. Would've liked to have seen him throw, but I guess Ash didn't want to run up the score. Maybe.

Very surprised they played Oden particularly after Gio comes and runs for a score. I agree that having a second situational QB makes sense given Laviano's limitations but you can't play three. Remember this was Howard and I don't think either of them attempted a pass.

Finally what must Allen and Rettig be thinking right now.

Allen was a reasonable risk. One year hired gun. If he comes in blowing doors off, awesome. If not, thanks for the effort. No harm no foul, we need to look at other guys who will be here.

Rettig is just an unfortunate situation. The kid can play, but not in this offense. He should transfer down a level an start immediately and show what he can do at a place that doesn't run the read option.

I thought Allen had two years of eligibility?

Based on Ash's comments, it's looking like we might see more of Oden this year.

You could use Gio in an "18 Wheeler" type set - like Texas uses Swoopes. Gio appears to be every bit of his listed 230 lbs.
