PISCATAWAY, N.J. (Sept. 26, 2015) – Rutgers football senior defensive tackle Darius Hamilton (West Paterson, N.J.) will miss the remainder of the 2015 season due to a lower body injury. Voted a team captain for the second-straight year, Hamilton saw action in one game this season, making his 2015 debut at PSU.
Hamilton served as an every-down lineman and team captain last season, earning All-Big Ten status in the media vote and winning Defensive MVP at the team banquet. He led the squad with 11.5 tackles-for-loss with six sacks, posting 45 stops overall. Hamilton had a career-high-tying eight stops in the win at Maryland, including contributions on the final defensive stand that sealed the victory. He also picked up a sack and denied a fake field goal attempt in the Quick Lane Bowl triumph over North Carolina.
For his career, Hamilton has 110 total tackles in 39 games. He has 24.5 tackles for loss and 10.5 sacks.
