Happy Halloween From Geo Baker

wow, they even put up a spider's web to shoot at lol. man, that's a seriously cool machine. never saw one of those before. (but I'd need a wider net :) )
Imagine one that could track the player and pass in any direction?

Those are called Dr. Dish. We have one for our team at the high school level. They are great. You can adjust the timing and location of passes and get up a ton of shots. Also it keeps track of your score and times for you. We use it in individual drills during practice sometimes and also some kids stay after and use it after practice. They can get up a ton of shots and not have us have to chase the ball for them.

Would be expensive, but should be possible. A sensor to identify where the player is, then a platform to swivel the machine and fire it at the appropriate force to cover the distance.

Just have them wear something on their shirt or a wristband that would track them. You can do that for cameras that follow where you are, technology is already there

Yep. Just more expensive than what looks to be a purely mechanical process (akin to a batting cage) to add mechanisms to turn it and sensors/code to adjust force and direction.
