Have any of you been to the new Bass Pro Shops in AC ?

Mostly into hiking myself,but I know people who fish,hunt,hike,camp,paddle,etc. have been waiting decades for a Bass Pro or Cabelas to open in New Jersey. The store,which is right at the entry in town,opened in April. Have any of you been to it and what did you think ? Thanks.

Yes, I have been to it recently. The store is gigantic with plenty to browse through. It seemed as though the prices were reasonalbe. Not sure how to compare the prices on the large items, they sell boats out of the store. Parking is free for the first hour in their lot, you just need to validate your parking ticket at the register (even if you don't buy anything). I think they also have a policy that if you spend over $40.00 you get 3-4 hrs of parking incluced in the lot. I was inside the store at around 11:00 am and was one of two cars in the parking lot. There had to be about 50 employees and 4 customers.

I don't think people outside of Atlantic City even knew it opened. I saw nothing in the Asbury Park Press or News 12 and the really strange thing is I get their newspaper-type publication in the mail (just got one recently) and there is no mention about a store opening. Surprised they are not advertising on News 12 or somewhere. Ads there must be dirt cheep because everyone from a small pharmacy in Freehold to 15 different siding/stucco places have commercials on the station. Wish Rutgers would run a few too.

I read about it last night in this years shore edition of N.J. monthly magazine. I am looking to go and check it out this summer. Must also make my yearly pilgrimage to Margaritaville!

I'm a big freshwater fisherman. I usually go up Sussex or Hunterdon County way. Absolutely love Bass Pro Shop.

Bass Pro Shop is scheduled to open another store in Sayreville in the near future.
