I appreciate that Flood was not Schiano but his stint as HC always seemed like an extension of Schiano (even if he did a bad job at it). Now, going outside the Schiano line, it just feels different to me. I'm not saying it's bad or good. Just different. I hope Ash does well. I'm supporting him.

Lets see how he does. I hope he gets in here quick, gets up and running immediately, and starts getting the team and recruits pumped up.

Definitely feels like he has the passion, energy, and knowledge of defense while at the same time believing in accountability.

No doubt there will be a learning curve on being the Head Coach, but from what I have read and seen so far in interviews, I am optimistic.

Agree, new blood was warranted.

Why do you and the hundred fans have to bring up Schiano? Will we be talking about him 10 years from now? Move on.

I don't feel that way at all. With Flood, I always felt like we had an interim for a head coach. He never had the leadership or even the presence to make me feel like there was somebody in charge of the program.

After listening to a few of Ash's interviews, I can sense his leadership immediately. He has that intangible 'it' factor, and I think he's gonna be a winner. I have a good feeling the next few years with this guy.

They arent saying that it's weird in the bad way. Its not that OP doesn't trust him or think he wont succeed... its just feels kinda different that's all. And hes absolutely right.

This is especially true for the younger fans who were kids or students when Schiano took over. You gotta understand that including Flood, the Schiano tree spans across 15 years. Thats more than half of many RU fans' lives. I could see how it would feel strange to finally have an outsider take over for some people. Just like how it may have felt weird coming to Yankee Stadium last season and NOT seeing Derek Jeter play shortstop after all these years. Its just different.

It feels good. Everything about RU, from the Chop to Family to our style of cutting edge 1995 playbook has felt stale for a good long while.

I'm excited about Ash. It's nice having a head coach we chose rather than accepted.
