Hey Bill...any word on Lewis?

No I spoke to Theo and Theo is going to Iowa. Now he could be going as a workout partner for Dip and Lewis/Van brill or he could be going to wrestle and pull his red shirt. Don't know which and frankly never thought to ask him.

I was just curious if redshirts were able to travel with the team to away games. Not sure if it was different between sports and whatnot.

im sure he is going to work out with them. Goody said at the start of the season that he and Scotty D would be travel with them to most matches. I would be shocked if they pulled his redshirt unless season ending injury to Dippery happens.

I hope they do pull Theo's redshirt. It improves the lineup this year and next year if Ash will go 149 next year. If Theo stays as a redshirt this year it holds either Giraldo or Delvecchio out of the lineup next year unless Ash stays at 141. I'd still do it because next year we will have holes at 165, 197 and Hwt. This year is our best chance to make some noise and build momentum in recruiting for the future.

2015 Lineup with Theo and 2016:
125- McCabe; McCabe
133- Giraldo; Delvecchio
141- Ash; Giraldo
149- Theo; Ash
157- Lewis; Lewis
165- Perrotti; Phil B if he can cut down or a transfer maybe
174- Phil B.
184- Gravina; Gravina
197- Hayden; Kremiller?
285- Smith; Hope for a transfer

The line up is preforming well!
The kids are buying in.
Need to wrestle hard this week and good things will come out of it!!
Even Flow gave them a ranking this week!
Starting to hear more kids want to stay home and wrestle and be supported by a passionate wrestling tri state area!
Could not be a better time to get involved!
Good luck men this week!

Agreed, we need both Del and Giraldo in lineup next year. If Ash stays 41 we can have Giraldo go 49? Maybe bump Theo to 57 next year if he stays redshirted this year and have Lewis go to 65?

The ideal scenario for next year would be Ashnault at 149 and Theobold at 157. Then we'd have quite a lineup of: McCabe-DelVecchio-Giraldo-Ashnault-Theobold. And we could redshirt Lewis. However, I don't know that Ashnault's and Theobold's best weights are 49/57. I think it's more likely we go McCabe-Giraldo-Ashnault-Theobold-Lewis.

The biggest questions next year are 165, 197, and HWT. How would Lewis do at 165? Do we turn to true frosh? Grello at 65? Mulligan at 97? And what about 285? Correnti will be nowhere big enough in his first year.

Ashnaults best weight is 141. Lets face facts...Scotty D might have a hell of a time making the lineup again. Ash will be ranked Very High next year to start the year if not #1. Giraldo 2nd year will be twice as good as this year. Theo will be a hammer next year at 49-Lewis at 57. These are lineup problems good teams go through every year. So IMo I love the fact that we have a ton of guys capable of winning matches and not enough weights for them. Somebody always gets hurt....

line ups are tough to predict even a year out. a guy like Giraldo has the frame to pack on muscle and skip a couple weight classes, so you never know until the season gets going. ideally you don't have national qualifiers sitting on the bench but like Passe said, its a good problem to have and injuries are a part of the sport.

I think Scotty D has just a much a shot as Theo next year to AA, therefore, we need him in lineup too. 33- Scotty 41- AA/Giraldo 49- AA/Giraldo 57- Theo/Gentile RS Lewis or have him go 65.
Or if we pull Theo's RS this year (don't think we will; Dippery restored hope with win over Cornell) then Lewis/Gentile 57 next year.

do you pull a redshirt just for dual's?
I hope that is not even an option.
Theo deserves a redshirt year.
If Scott D beats out theo next year so be it.
If not, he backups for one year and comes back even stronger the next.
Unfortunately injuries do happen and he may be needed either way next year.
It is a problem that the Iowa and Penn States of the world have.

No but if Dippery doesn't look like he will qualify for NCAA then to maximize both year lineup potential then maybe it's best to pull Theo's RS late. Coaches have done this before Look at Kevin Jack.
