hire that guy

Except when he said he wants to come close to what schiano did
You must be miserable right now. Imagine his forsaking winning games and championships and first addressing the cultural changes necessary to make those happen. You too can be part of the solution, but you won't.

Except when he said he wants to come close to what schiano did
He knows that the Rutgers fanbase and administration is divided - and by complimenting the past which so many don't want to let go of, he builds a bridge and helps to "align" more people to the current and future program.

I think this guy is a Schiano clone which may not be a bad thing as long as he is not as anal as Schiano and allows his coordinators to do their jobs.

Very well said!

Started off well in terms of addressing questions directly, including why coach the bowl game. One thing not addressed was whether he will be here this weekend for last recruiting weekend. I assume so, but seems like at least that could have been more directly and firmly answered.

It's terrific that Ash was so impressive and articulate at the news conference. It's a good sign -- but it doesn't prove that he's going to be a good coach. Nevertheless, I will be rooting for him.

Why not compliment GS he orchestrated one of the great all time turnarounds if CF. Hopefully Ash will be able to get us to the next level that Greg never quite achieved.

Duggan confirmed Ash WILL NOT be here this weekend when recruits visit. Seems odd as that is his chance to meet as many as possible.

This may be rude, but while I think he has the intensity of Schiano, but I get the impression he is smarter. Time will tell. I just think he is far too analytical to be as stubborn as Schiano was.

As to the comment, if you look at the distance Schiano travelled, taking us from point A to point B, and you think of Ash replicating that, from point B to point C, well, that would be a playoff caliber team. There are a lot of ways to look at what he said. He certainly did not say that, "Schiano's high point is going to be my goal," nor do I think anyone would fairly take his comment in that way.

He was simply paying respect to a very good football coach, who was the only one to be successful at RU in the major conference era.
