Carton was a real piece of garbage on that interview. Mocked Rutgers many times. Carton is cringeworthy to listen to. I don't listen to them anymore simply because of carton
I understand your dislike of Carton but Rutgers fans need to understand that Rutgers has become a source of derision because of the won/loss records of football and mens basketball.The NJ/NY metro media ,print and radio/tv, are highly critical of professional and college teams that are non winners.

When you invite the AD on the show and sarcastically say "Yeah you know Rutgers the premier destination for many people on the eastern seaboard". And when he asks a question about the basketball team and Hobbs answers by starting with "Steve's doing a great job" and Carton says "who is steve". I mean the guy is a complete fool and he's not even knowledgeable. He doesn't do his homework, his morning show is a complete joke. The fact that he is gainfully employed is a disgrace.
Carton is a clown and is the ultimate fair weather fan. When RU gets things rolling, he will be our best friend and will talk about how he knew it all along. I like Boomer a lot, but don't listen to that show because of Carton.
Carton is an ass. He always was, but it's getting way worse. Which sucks, because Boomer is great to listen to. Hobbs is the man though

Carton can be very, very funny at times, BUT, it's the same thing over-and-over-and-over again. Otherwise he's a complete douche bag at times. Lots of radio personalities, for better or worse, have had incredibly successful careers being this way (see: Howard Stern above all others...).
Carton played the jackass when he wasn't doing sports, and apparently has not changed. This frat-boy shtick should have worn thin by now.
Carton absolutely kills Syracuse Basketball. He won't root for them until the cheating Jimmy B. is gone. He is no fan of the Cuse.
I heard him once in 2009 and shutoff WFAN. The entire station is a joke between some fool like that, Francessa and Bedingo. It lowers my IQ listening to these losers talk sports all day long and then having the really huge ass losers call in with a Yankees trade idea at 230pm on a Tuesday. Do yourselves a favor and turn that station off permanently.

Carton is a shtick doctor and, yes, we are an easy target from point blank range. He will stop when we stop f'ing up..
the average listener is NYC has no clue who Steve is or Chris or RU hoops or RU football other than to know its been generally terrible....basketball forever and football for a few years now. That is his base and he plays to it. The NYC listeners does give a crap about small improvements that a schools fansbase may rally around but does not even make a blip on the national scene. Carton and the typical listener will not change their stance on RU until it proves it belongs which means NCAA tournament appearance and a New Years Day bowl which means going 9-3 or better than football. Other than that you are working yourselves up into later over nothing because a school that does not win at anything will not get respect on a national or NYC scene
I stopped years ago for this reason. For someone so smart, he makes many teams/people/situations the topic of his fodder. I remember when we were on a winning streak in football under GS, when I used to listen:
* " Go win a few games"
When we did
* " Go beat someone good"
I think we then beat a good South Florida team
* "Let me ask you something......how many of these teams were ranked?......lets see who else they can beat.......go to a major bowl game"
I changed stations, goodbye
And they want to consider (ND Cowboys fan) CC???
BAC- comments are spot on but will be mostly ignored because the truth hurts when you are a die hard fan .
agree, RU fans crying....its about winning....and winning at a high level. Minor bowl games do not move needles when 75% of the teams can make a bowl. People notice when you win, they do not care about little improvements here or there or new coaches starting out but have tons of work to do on the recruiting trails. Its great for fans to be optimistic about Pikiell and Ash but winning and recruiting matters and until that gets done, people will just see RU as bottom feeders. RU finished last in all 3 of the most exposed sports...football, mens hoops, and womens hoops...has any school ever accomplished that, I know BC did it in two of their sports but RU completed the trifecta that may have made history
