One way to find out some of those former players who have very generously supported RU football, is to check the weekly game day program sold at the stadium. Haven't checked it this year yet, but it typically has always had a section that provides a list of those who have made gifts to R football in several monetary categories. Lumps the names of donors in giving categories ie... over 100K, 50K to 100K, 10K to 50K etc..... From what I could see it doesn't specify if these lists represent lifetime gifts or gifts for the prior year. I have definitely seen some former players listed among those names. Wont name anyone here, but was pretty surprised about some of the lesser known players who have provided some significant donations.
