Well, we're #1 so I can't imagine there being more than ... one team.

To answer correctly though, there are 71, which is up from about 49 in 2011-2012.

I think just 2 years ago we were ranked in the low 40's before the season. We have improved greatly in just a few years. It is nice to see.

a LOT of the growth team wise has been in D2,,and esp D3

according to laxpower.com as of 2017 there are :

93 D-2
236 D-3 over 3x the number of D-1s
27 Jr college

also 186 club teams like UFlorida, UCLA et al
