Yeah, that's what makes me less confident about this game than I should be.

This is a big deal. Way too many penalties in the past killed drives for an anemic offense to start.

The first two games against Northwestern and Temple, Rutgers started Hollin Pierce at left tackle, Curtis Dunlap at left guard, Gus Zilinskas at center, Kobe Asamoah at right guard and Tyler Needham at right tackle.

The biggest surprise was Zilinskas getting the start over Ireland Brown, who started 11 games at center last season.

But Rutgers’ latest change came against Wisconsin when it started Bryan Felter, a fourth-year lineman out of Bergen Catholic, at left guard and moving Dunlap to right guard in place of Asamoah.

Schiano said Wednesday that Felter had earned the opportunity.

I honestly do not think it is the blocking. Sure, we could imagine that an OL has to defeat any scheme to stop the run... but that's not realistic. We have to be able to punish D's that are schemed against the run with the pass... make them play a more "fair" defensive scheme that gives the OL a fair opportunity to run block.

I think we need to PASS BETTER in order to set up the run. Teams will play us vs the run and even spy on QB runs.. we need to pass effectively. THEN, with a balanced offense.. check how well we run block. It won't be a case of the OL suddenly blocking better.. it will be a case of the D not loading up against the run because it opens them up too much to a pass.
