How to talk to your kids about an undefeated Iowa

Cute. I'm trying to figure out why the Dad has an Alabama shirt and the kid has an Auburn shirt. But either way, how can fans of schools that played Jacksonville State & San Jose State or Middle Tennessee & UL Monroe (and still to play Charleston Southern) complain about Iowa's OOC schedule.

That's really funny. This is a "Solid Verbal" podcast thing. I think this guy is a writer for Tosh.0 and put this together.

It's funny but yeah given how sec teams often play pathetic OOC schedules and never ever play games in weather colder than 60 degrees they probably shouldn't talk too much about strength of schedule.

The Solid Verbal guys also set up talkingtoyoirkidsaboutiowa.com

Warning to the thin-skinned who want to listen to the podcast: they take frequent shots at Rutgers

I'm on a text/e-mail group with a bunch of SEC (LSU) guys. You'd be shocked how highly they think, of their own schedules, and how much they put down B1G SOS's. They pretty much are all convinced that, year-in and year-out, they've got the 13 best teams in the nation.

Someone needs to point out that little Ole miss Memphis match up from a week ago to them.

Or that (this year especially) the SEC bias at the beginning of the season has been proven wrong yet again.

Preseason had 8 SEC teams in the Top 25. Week 8 finds just 3.

Meanwhile, the Big Ten had 2 teams in the Preseason Top 25 and now has 4.

Some of the SEC teams ranked in the preseason include:
Auburn 4-2
George 5-2
Ole Miss 5-2 (still ranked)
Arkansas 2-4
Missouri 4-3
Tennessee 3-3

Is there any wonder why SEC fans think their conference is so strong when they get 8 teams ranked before the season? When each week features a team playing a ranked team?

If they waited 5 weeks before the first ranking, the Big Ten would have looked stronger than the preseason polls and the SEC would have looked much weaker. And this happens nearly every year imo.

Georgia, along with Clemson, is my perennial favorite for overrated team of the year. Every year is The Year for Georgia, every year sees them a preseason top 10 or top 15 team and every year they flop in their big games but manage to work their back up the rankings by cleaning up on the weaklings of the sec (plus Georgia Tech, which, you know, acc...).
