Howard transfer forward Seth Towns has been cleared by the NCAA for his 8th season of college hoops

If JW gets to play for us this season, and with Mag and Ogbole (hopefully) coming back from injury to play soon, we will definitely be upgrading our floor and bench talent quite a bit this year.

JW won't play for RU in 2023-24. Pike said at the recent Court Club meeting that they pursued him knowing he'd have to sit out a season.

Not sure given the gambling stuff. but now’s probably a pretty good time for Schiano to submit Reggie Sutton’s paperwork for clearance to stick around next year if he wants to. How could the NCAA deny it?
Well Ben Mauk is working for the NCAA now, so we’ll see.🤷‍♂️

Yeah I get it’s a crap shoot and each situation is different and evaluated in an obscure vacuum.

That said - Reggie Sutton is one stand out example (a different sport I know) of a kid that now could not be denied an injury waiver without the NCAA taking massive heat. A kid who stuck with one team through and through while battling back from an injury that had him sidelined in a wheelchair. Only if there were NO exceptions would it be questionable. Reggie is the one kid who now figures to be a slam dunk.

You would think the status remains the same if RU doesn't pursue It

It sounds like RU is not trying so that is that
Who said we’re not trying? I thought Pike just said that it wasn’t something he expected whe we brought Williams here. That doesn’t mean we didn’t put in for it.

Just saying that coach doesn't expect it to be approved so maybe not pushing for it
Could be wrong

Top 5 players in the 2016 class were
#1 Josh Jackson
#2 Harry Giles
#3 Markelle Fultz
#4 Jason Tatum
#5 Lonzo Ball
Myles Powell #89, JY #111, Towns #128

He has played 3 full seasons, 16-17, 17-18, and 20-21, and 83 total games
He did play in the COVID year so he could play a 5th year in 24-25.

Looked at Howard’s results so far and its transfer-rich roster. We should not consider them a cupcake opponent.
