I’m officially rooting for Purdue

True their team is fun to watch and plays a really well rounded game. They have all the tools and experience to go to a Final Four. Great point guard, great shooters, and inside presense plus very good coaching.

I agree but I think they may have a problem in the NCAA tourney. I watched replays last night of fouls called on both Duke and Doorson against Haas. He is huge but three times he was pushing defenders out of the way with his forearm, really extending and making space and when they pushed back they got called. BIG officials let him get away with a lot of fouls and also he shuffles his feet and walks quite often and they don't call it. In the tourney he won't have big ten officials and he could wind up in early foul trouble. It will be interesting to see how that plays out. I believe they lost a few OOC games early this year where he was in foul trouble. Could be an issue.

Never understand the "Big 10 officials" angle. The Big 10 does not have its own set of officials. Watch the games in other conferences and you see the same guys. They all work 4-6 nights a week all over the country.

depends on the matchup....RU stresses defense, those are the teams they struggle with, if Purdue draws a team that does not play D in the tourney they will eat them alive. Haas gets away with fouls because thats part of the strategy. Good players flop and get calls. Purdue is very adept at this. When the inside/outside game is going, its tough to beat this team. With Purdue making 3s thats when they can go to Haas and he will beat them there. Alot of schools will not have the size to handle him inside. RU did some size to clog there with Sa/Doorson

Based on their fans and players reactions on the Rivals forum, I also want them to win it all. If you looked at the Indiana board after we beat them, it was all about how much RU sucked and what a total disaster it was to lose to a team like us.
Rutgers more than showed up in MSG. I am very proud of this team.

Purdue lives and dies by the 3 pointer. That could carry them deep in the Big Dance or end up a 2nd round KO.
