best perimeter defense I've seen in quite some time ....and our rebounding was super. Rutgers just kept crashing the boards. So how did we lose? Iowa just made some incredible shots in the end. And RU's missed fouls shots and suspect ref calls didn't help , especially Johnson's tip-in which was called goal tending. But it was not.....

Yes, our much maligned perimeter defense was terrific tonight. Our guys were up in their grills all night. Iowa was “only” 8-21 from three, which is very pedestrian for them.

We also held Iowa to 71 points, which is 7 or 8 points below their season average.

Helluva an effort.

According to Iowa fans on there board we were handchecking all game . I guess moving your feet abs getting into people is handchecking . Not to mention all the moving screens they set

I think this was one of our best defensive efforts given the opponents weapons,.....RU had to be extra tough and RU did well for 28 seconds and then they would just hit a dagger or get helps from the zebras.

I believe the defensive effort was one of, if not the best, of the year. If they continue to play like this the rest of the season, good things are ahead,

Great post bac. Thank you for mentioning the zebras more than once. In a more fairly officiated last 12 minutes, I believe we should have had a 5-10 point win, instead of that circus shot loss. As Pike said, “every point matters.”

I really feel for this team. We played so darn well, these kids (and us) deserved much better.
