This is my thing with him. I'm not completely against him as a coach in general but I want to see how he does without TB. Also he's had issues hiring OCs as well both in Louisville and Texas so that's also something.
It's his defense I'm interested in. Not his offense.
The problem with Texas at this point is that they're antsy. They believe they should be winning national championship after national championship, without actually facing the current state of the programs.
Strong is a disciplinarian that is a good freaking coach. And out coached us multiple times.
Would you not be satisfied with a coach unless we get some random dude from the MAC? Every time I read a post of yours about coaches it seems like you don't want Rutgers to hire someone that's established.
And you can take this however you want, but I think it would be good to have an African American coach at Rutgers.

Oh and they played Lville a 4.5 million dollar buyout and all 25 million is guaranteed. Even if he were to get fired, which he won't, he isn't coming here. He could go be a coordinator in the SEC for 1.2 million and wait until another 3.5 million dollar year a job opened up. you think he is going to come here for around 2 million? Now, as to your ridiculous post about me not wanting someone who is established. Find me an established P5 coach that would find our situation better than his and will come here for meager raise or a pay cut. Once you can't do that lets start talking about successful MAC coaches.

You have a though process like we're still in the Big East/AAC. The donors of this school want to see the Athletics succeed now more than they ever have.
They want to open up the Post or whatever newspaper you read and see Rutgers knocks off #1 Ohio State. Rutgers beating Syracuse wasn't exactly that interesting and respected
there is a lot of stuff I'd like to see in the papers but that doesn't make it plausible. You think the donors want to see it and the funding is there. I see a group that couldn't raise enough money only 2 years ago. I see a group that is struggling to raise the funds for a new basketball area. I see a basketball coach that gets paid 1 million a year. I see a President that wants to be deficit neutral. I see a message board that complains about parking prices. Finally, I see a press that wants to write negative stories and would cream themselves over RU spending 4 million a year on their coach. I also see a coach whether it be Flood or not making about 2.5 million a year.
Why donate and put money into those things when clearly football is and should be the priority?
How do you know they weren't planning on moving on from Flood regardless of what's happened? Everything that's gone down the past couple of weeks could have just hurried the process up.
Damn - Boggs alone violated 3-5, and likely #1 as well unless he openly confessed to the police.
There is no plan to move on from flood. Large, important donors like him. Flood isn't the issue. Let's get through this pen state game and things will get better.
