If NW loses tonight are they still in?

Since most leagues that can steal bids are done, looks pretty good for Northwestern. Would be fun to be the ones to make them sweat, for history's sake anyway.

Knock their seed down give em a rough first Rd matchup

lock is right...how long to the game is the comment made that now that NW is in, the next longest streak for not playing in the tourney belongs to guess who...

What happens in this scenario... RU beats NW (NW record 21-11). Iowa and Michigan advance, Iowa wins Tourney... How many teams go from the Big. In this scenario NW is #8. They may still be playing for a spot.

Northwestern is absolutely in. Michigan is absolutely in. Iowa will be in if they beat Indiana and Wisconsin...yes 8 teams will go, they will take someone elses spot like Illinois State or Syracuse

Iowa is getting destroyed by Indiana 75-58 with 8 minutes remaining. They are out of the NCAA .

Like Bac said if the BIG gets 8 then NW is in, but if it turns out to be only 7, then RU and Indiana (if they win out) will send NW to the NIT. Not likely, but it does IMHO mean NW is playing to ensure they are a lock.

watching this game...offense counts...you cannot rely on winning with just defense in this league...that will get you only so far, you will win games for sure but if you do not have the shooters its hard to break into the top half of the league

Would LOVE to see NW (or pretty much anyone) bounce syracuse

I gave you a like because Andrew White III transferred there from Nebraska as a graduate transfer which is fine except he had told Miles he was returning so Miles didn't offer a kid NU could have gotten that sure would have helped this year. White's helicopter dad decided that he wanted his kid to be at a school that was "guaranteed" to be in the sweet 16 so the NBA could get a good look at his son against good competition. It was an 11th hour departure that left NU high and dry. It's interesting that Syracuse, while a good school and hoops program, ended out being his only option on where he could transfer to because every other school dropped him after he visited with his dad. Syracuse didn't take him until another player opted for somewhere else. I hope he gets to sit on the couch with me and watch. Ha

Huskers...saw Miles is coming back, heard something about the AD looking forward to working with him next year, is that true?

Yes, I guess Eichorst(the AD) called Miles before the game and told him he would be returning regardless of the outcome of the PSU game. It isn't being taken real well by the boosters. Miles was hired by Tom Osborne(the worst AD in history) and everyone figured Eichorst would fire him so hecould get his own guy in there. He had the perfect opportunity. With what he has done, he has tied his wagon to Miles and if he doesn't end up in the NCAA tourney then both Miles and Eichorst will be filling out change of address cards. If the football team doesn't show huge improvement this year, instead of sucking like the last 2 years, Eichorst may be gone anyway.

Who cares??? Knocking someone out of NCAA just fuels fire for next year plus their fans hate us for it. Just win and move on...

I like to knock people out, not that NW is out after they lose to RU.
