Illinois Lose

Finish in 13th place and it’s considered improvement. Goal achieved.
You can't be serious.First of all,you are assuming Illinois will lose to Rutgers and there is no certainty that will happen.Second, coming in 13th will ensure another consecutive losing season which is far more important than one position in league rankings.Third, even bringing this topic up shows no sense of urgency to show real improvement that would attract higher level recruits.

You’re right. We could lose every game in conference. I don’t think we will. But it’s not like we’re going to be .500 this year. So let’s achieve a goal. What’s wrong with that? My guess is it’ll take 4 B1G wins to not be in last. That’s where this team is and it’ll be tough but attainable TBH.

Pikiell has finished last every season he’s been here. That doesn’t attract higher level recruits either.

We need to steal some games at home. Maybe someone overlooks us on the road. Getting to 6 conference games should be a goal. Finishing at the bottom is not a seller for recruits. We need to have more than last years run in the B1G as a selling point.

We “need” to do NOTHING but show that our young guys have learned the game by the end of the year, have a healthy, FULL offseason of workouts and training, bring in our 2 PGs, and go from there next season

one game at a time. With how this team starts games lately, how about playing hard from the start? How about losing some of the poor threes?
Cannot see how anyone can speculate on league wins based on how difficult it has been to play less talented teams.

Oh and it was a buy game too. So Illinois paid FAU to come to Champaign and beat them.

Ouch.

Those r always painful. Love seeing it in football against the big boys. App state over Michigan was fun

I wouldn't write off Illinois. They have a very good coach and the schedule they played has been very difficult. Losses can happen to lower teams in you don't come to play as we have witnessed. I think they are very much like Rutgers with a young team.

These sound like the goals of a middle school rec league coach. Way to set the bar pathetically low.

Odd at the end of the year last year I thought they were improving and would be a Bear this year. Seem to have gotten worse.
