Pretty much nails it.

That’s a generic scenario, but perceptions, personalities and other employment options matter too. Besides, who wants to be the next scapegoat ?

It’s not a matter of inside or outside. It’s a matter of hiring someone capable, credible and allowing the person to do his job.

We don’t have such a person on the staff, so of course it should be an outside hire.

Problem is, Schiano won’t hire someone qualified who would expect control, nor would that person want to work for him.

Here it’s a puppet position. I hear he contacted the Wyoming OL coach for the job (Northwestern player and NIU/Temple coach) promising him he’d get first pick of the ‘keep chopping’ sweatshirts in the coaching staff clothing bin and 2 free basketball season tickets in Section 307.

Yes, we need an outside hire. But that hire and Schiano have to agree on what the offensive philosophy is going to be, and what the approach is going to be to finding and developing the talent to implement that philosophy. (For instance, do we rely on developing Wimsatt, or do we seek another QB?) We don't need another OC who gets fired or leaves after a year -- that only makes it harder to progress. (If you were a player, would you want a new OC each year?) I imagine there's *someone* who can pretty much see eye-to-eye with Schiano. It's a mistake to hire anyone else.

A must hire from the Outside with the assurance Greg will let the OC run the Offense. Something we have all seen that is not Greg’s style and will ultimately be his demise if he doesn’t change. It will be difficult for any proven OC worth his salt to accept coaching under Greg now.

Who is coming here outside of somebody looking to make a payday knowing that they are going to be micromanaged by Greg Schiano, and if we struggle they will be the first one to be thrown under the bus? You are likely to just get a retread looking for a paycheck.

I'm sorry...Gleeson was from the outside.
We just can't have someone that is a yes man and let GS roll over them.

Been through this $hit too many times
