...already has people calling for Archie Miller's head. I have a feeling they will be fired up on Wednesday to try and stop this losing streak. I hope our guy's new-found focus is still there, because you need to really step on a team's neck when they're cornered like this. Hold off early runs and out tough them, and they may fold given the current pressure they're under.

Miller’s Dayton teams were like well-oiled machines and he used under-the-radar players.

I’m actually shocked at how bad his Indiana team looks right now. He also looks extremely stressed. He’s got a lot of talent and they are paying him an awful lot of money for Indiana to look this lost.

I think we match up well with Indiana and have a good chance Wednesday if we don’t throw up a stinker.

can see Indy with a similar spread to PSU as far as vegas is concerned.

I also was just over there and the fans seem to be in meltdown mode. They aren't used to losing in men's basketball and they're out of their minds. Their next game after this one is at MSU so the team knows they need the RU game to prevent a very nasty losing streak.

It could go one of the two ways. They could rise to the occasion and come in very focused or they could come in tight and just make one mistake and another. The RAC should be very loud on Wednesday. Hope to see a lot of very pissed off Indiana fans leave in tears. They are the most cocky basketball fans aside from MSU

LOL at the deep logic and rhetoric being thrown around in this thread... Indiana is going to “try and stop this losing streak” I guess as opposed to forfeiting??? And the “game can go one or two ways” and that would either a W or an L! Right?

Thanks for keeping it light on a Monday

Not sure I understand your objections. Do teams not get motivated to stop losing streaks? Who said they would forfeit? What deep statistical analysis were you seeking when clicking upon this thread?

Just having a good laugh at the Captain Obvious stuff. Keep it coming... I bet 10 guys are on the cort for tip off too

Yes, it's a sports cliche that you a team is most dangerous when they are down. I'm not sure what the issue is with Indiana- talent, injuries, chemistry. But teams usually take us lightly which can lead to us stealing a game. All people are saying is that this won't be the case Wednesday because of the importance of a win to their season. More of a mental mindset thing, which can definitely help a team.

Indiana problems - Injuries (DeRon Davis, Jerome Hunter, a number of players out for previous games); small in the paint leading to a lot of post points for the opposition; free throw shooting is as bad as Rutgers; poor 3 point shooting team like Rutgers especially now that Green is suspended (Phinisee can hit a few 3 pointers); and when Langford gets into foul trouble (i.e. against Purdue and at home against Michigan) watch out because they truly have 2 main scorers (Langford and Morgan). Production output for Langford has gone way down when he's in foul trouble. The above is not a winning formula.

Might not see as many clown pants this time around . Walk of shame to your car in clown pants after a loss to Rutgers is a rough way to go out....

IU will not take Rutgers lightly. The Scarlet Knights ended the Hoosiers season last March at the Garden.

Hoosiers will be a slight favorite in Piscataway, probably 2.5 to 3.....I think RU is again a live underdog at game time and again this weekend in Columbus vs Ohio State.

You have to figure the public perception of the storied Indiana program vs Rutgers is good for a few points. Your average Joe is gonna bet on Indiana by name recognition and past success

While it seems that most think they can still beat RU, I had to laugh when I read this:
"Last year we just ran into the buzzsaw that is Rutgers basketball. Who wants to play them in March?"

Indiana has the better talent versus Rutgers with the momentum and home court.Nobody knows which team will show up on Wednesday.I hope its a Nebraska type game versus the Northwestern disappointment.

Screw them. They haven't won a national championship in 32 years .They can live off of laurels we have never had. Deal with it.
