I know some fans thought he might surround himself with experience, but personally I love this approach.

“I’m really big on staff alignment,” Ash said. “Doing things the way I want them to be done. It’s a lot easier to get younger coaches with less experience to do it my way then for older guys who have had experience and success doing it a certain way. They may come in, and I’m a first-time head coach, and they say, ‘Why should I listen to you? This is how I’ve always done it.’
“Well, I’m not really interested in what you’ve done. I have a vision, I have a plan, and I have a way that I want to do it. It’s easier to get everybody aligned with a younger staff. I’ve really learned that here with Coach Meyer.”
