Interesting tidbit from Dunleavy

Ash also mentioned the malfunction in his post-game presser. And very cool about the apartments.

And it seemed to me that the announcers were mocking Coach Ash during that. Unless I missed it,they never explained the situation or apologized for their comments.

They were, but how could they have known that there was a malfunction? It doesn't seem like it was known publicly until his post game presser

I watched the game video on You Tube. It was shown on TV (Ash signaling to others that his headset wasn't working). Don't remember exactly when it was but obviously there was an issue.

In the UW game, at the end of the first series when it looked like Ash was considering going for it on 4th and 1, he called a timeout. Ash was screaming into his headset to get the punt team out there, but there was a malfunction with the headset. He couldn't be heard so that's why he called the timeout.

That was mentioned in item number 4:

Happy to learn that because I was at the stadium and couldn't believe what I thought was indecision or a Kyle Flood-like brain fart on the sideline.I was still reeling from the horrible play call and execution on third down and this 4th down time out really got me pissed off.
