Interview with Rutgers Football Supporter and Donor: Change Starts at top

No offense taken. Not a job :) just a hobby.

For me a way to give voice to those who want to have the discussion. The main thing for me is the approach. You may disagree with him but he put himself out there in a way that has to be listened to.

I'll listen later, thanks Jerry, appreciate your work!

It's Neumann.

Why this guy gets a mic shoved in his face for any reason is beyond me.

What am I missing here? The guy is saying that there is no financial commitment from the very top. TRUE He slams Barchi for being one dimensional with no interest in sports. TRUE He says that other coaches are recruiting NJ high school recruits with absolute impunity. TRUE He said, Kyle Flood is not able to compete because our facilities are inferior and because Julie Herman is not doing her job by raising money. TRUE He said the State (Chris Christie) is not interested in financing our athletic department like Governors are from other states. TRUE He said that change would happen if big money donors were vocal and upset, but they are not upset enough to get Barchi's attention. Not Sure

How is that TRUE? What facts do you have? Julie has facts showing she is raising money. The FACT is that Rutgers alumni are as a whole CHEAP but for a few folks. Moreover, NJ in general is CHEAP such that even those with means will not support Rutgers. Rutgers, like most of the other State institutions north of NJ except maybe UConn, does not garner respect in state that other state institutions in other parts of the country do. TRUE.

Since when is Julie not raising $? Truth is, she is most definitely raising $. Jon is full of shit.

Jim: I don't believe he would spew out BS just to try and get her fired. Is it possible that she is raising money but not B10 money? I have nothing against Ms. Herman but you can't be pissed at a coach who may finish the season 5-7 and with a possible bowl game, but give the AD a pass for not fulfilling her fund raising responsibilities. The guy never said she's not raising money, he's basically saying her efforts are falling short of expectations.

Lol! Julie is raising money for Rutgers. You know how difficult that is? And we've been in the B1G for 2 years now. Give her some time!

What am I missing here? The guy is saying that there is no financial commitment from the very top. false He slams Barchi for being one dimensional with no interest in sports. false He says that other coaches are recruiting NJ high school recruits with absolute impunity. ok, I can buy this He said, Kyle Flood is not able to compete because our facilities are inferior and because Julie Herman is not doing her job by raising money. false. Flood's failure to compete are due to other reasons specific to Flood He said the State (Chris Christie) is not interested in financing our athletic department like Governors are from other states. Probably false. Outside the SEC, I don't think there are a lot of Governors interested in providing state funding for athletics. And even in the SEC, it is not necessary for states to provide funding because fans provide the funding He said that change would happen if big money donors were vocal and upset, but they are not upset enough to get Barchi's attention. Probably true. Big money donors being vocal and upset is certainly one of the mechanisms to drive change. /QUOTE

Oh Neumann again..just because the guy twets all of a sudden he speaks for donors...this is a guy who was against Julie from the beginning and he cant be trusted no matter what he did for RVision

This is a guy who started a Twitter war with the fan base over the PSU girl being given the R Vision job. He was a tool then and he's a tool now.

It's Barchi's fault that Fludd can't recruit NJ?

Our Facilities are now non competitive? That is total bullshite. Even if was true, fund raising is in place to renovate the Hale Center as we speak. I wonder how big Neumann's checks are?

#1 problem is Fludd. Schiano recruited a lot better with the same facilities, or worse, and the same university, the same state, etc, in a much weaker conference. There is no way around that fact.
BRG: When I listen to someone speak I do my best to try and read in between the lines. There seems to be a subtle dislike for Herman and to a lesser extent Barchi. I firmly believe from the scuttlebutt I've been hearing is that big money donors felt that Barchi threw Pernetti under the bus. It's purely up to you to believe me but some in politics have quietly felt the same way. I can't wait to see what the hell is going to happen the minute Christie leaves office.

There is a not subtle dislike for julie Herman and we all know why that is. As for Tim pernetti, a guy with a resume for ad as thin as a piece of onion skin paper, anyone still pining for him after the way he f ed up his job has their head so far up their a$$ they'll never see daylight again. The results are clear: Tim pernetti was a terrible athletic director.

he had been spewing BS from the start about her, that is my issue

as for raising money, she is raising more than the last 2 guys at a school where its very difficult to raise money

Neumann's interview says a lot more about Neumann than it does about Rutgers, Julie, or Barchi. He is a "friend" of the worst kind.

He reminds me of the following:
