Iowa Coach Fran McCaffery Talks Rutgers

Let’s see what happens @MSU before making this proclamation. Remember we did get destroyed @PU and his spot seems very similar.

To be fair, we got destroyed at Purdue without Omoruyi, and with Harper fouling out in 22 minutes. Carter, Thiam, and Kiss played 69 minutes, and the wheels came off the bus in the second half.

What I like best about that clip was that he wasn't struggling to say something nice. He wasn't playing politik to excuse a close victory... he was just being honest stating his opinion based on what he saw.

And our guys should know that when they put in that kind of effort.. they will be well respected.

I am OK with the no Eugene angle. We are a different team with Kiss and Issa playing 50 minutes vs. 14. I think we are a slightly better team, but a different team.

i was going to say the same thing... the worst thing about the iowa game is knowing that we have to play @MSU next.

Agree that we're a different team, and also that we're slightly better. MSU is also a different team, and slightly worse.

We have two players who have lost minutes because others on the team have risen on the depth chart.... they have 2 of their 3 leading scorers lost to injury. Their depth is likely going to be a concern, especially inside - will partly depend on how tight the officiating is.

McQuaid and Henry scare me. Izzo will look to win the game and not looking at peaking in March. I expect to get Michigan state's best given what it's roster can do.

Rutgers can beat any team in the country...
Which is like saying I can win the lottery mega prize.Lets slow down and win a few more league games before putting Rutgers in the stratosphere of elite programs.

Really interested to see the game plan Pike brings into this game. We have a lot more size than they do under the basket, and they're going to need to rely more on Tillman/Goins with Ward out, with not a lot of depth behind them. Can we pressure the paint early and get them in some foul trouble? If either have to sit for an extended period, we might have an opportunity.

The computers would have Duke as a roughly 25-point favorite against us at Cameron. For comparison, KenPom has them -11 vs. UNC, -23 against Miami, and -31 against Wake Forest at home.

That equates to a roughly 2% chance for Rutgers.
