Iowa Slips to #30 In AP Poll!

North Dakota State to #28! This is one of the games I thought we could pull off at home before the season started. I thought Iowa was overrated and we might possibly win here, but our QB play right now will not get it done. You would need a ton of turnovers from Iowa and we would have to come out of the gates for once in the 1st quarter. The Defense seems to be grasping Ashes concept slowly so that could help. We can't count on Grant every week to scores points for us to make up for the lack of our passing game. So in the end I don't see a win, but if we could establish a good rushing attack, we can keep it closer than most seem to think. Hence the plus 11 spread! any thoughts here!

Yeah, I saw the Cal game and they real for sure! I penned in Washington as an 8-4 or maybe 9-3 team before the season. They are good, but I still don't know if they are great. I can't see them finishing in the top 10 by the end of the year. Next year I would say yes.
 
I'm sleeping on Cal. Love the offense, however, the defense is a bit of a mess, especially the run defense. Second half of San Diego State, Webb really struggled throwing the ball and that doesn't bode well for winning the Pac12.

They remind me of, well, past Cal teams. They have the ability to win some shoot-outs, however, when the going gets tough. Plus they have a USC problem. They NEVER beat USC no matter what year.

I like either Stanford or Washington, based on defense.
 
UW was very unimpressive in their win over a hapless Portland State team. May simply have been a case of sleepwalking but I didn't think Petersen would let his team take a week off.

Petersen isn't real happy about that game either. He's got some work to do before they fly to Arizona for Saturday's game.
 
I also thought Iowa was overrated and we could possibly pull an upset. Laviano's play has changed my mind. :thumbsdown:

It baffles me that even after we played Wash. people are STILL confusing them with WSU. 2 diff. teams bro! Washington Huskies. Purple team. We played them this year. Washington State Cougars. Not a purple team. We played them LAST year. They played Portland State the week prior. 2 diff. teams in the same state! Why does that confuse so many posters here?!?!

They beat Washington State last year. This is the first time Washington has ever played that team.

This ^^ and well said. I wonder if they know yet that Michigan and Michigan State aren't the same team.

Bullshit. The polls are a joke. Especially the coaches poll, 7 Sec's teams and Tennessee struggles with Ohio, not Ohio State, and they move up 4 spots. Nebraska beats a ranked team as does Michigan state and they more nowhere. Thank god they is a committee. With the exception of Alabama , the rest of the Sec is super overrated . The top of the Pac 12, Stanford and Washington is as good as any other team and playoff worthy. As is the top of the Big 10, and Louisville and Clemson . The committee will sort this out. How is Tennessee even ranked having struggled with App. State and Ohio at home. ? Ru Husky has been railing about this for years. But thank god there is a committee !!

Maybe but they not only have talent , we have seen their talent , and it is impressive. Right now Ohio State's speed and talent look very hard to beat. Lots of football to play !!!
