Another thing I wanted to related/ask about is about what I heard at the game. Due to one of our crew members on staff "conveniently" (when you are on top staff there are lots of perks) shifting his seats it's been a tad more difficult talking to my friends whom I moved adjacent to about 8-10 years ago. Also I have a permanent whiplash from being hit head on years ago and recently have had trouble with a recurring "Pull" in my left neck/"trapezius". Very painful at times.
Having such and empty seats above my buddies (with the 3rd crew member easily within reach (and another crew member who sits with us but has no tickets in the section absent) for the 2nd half Saturday I moved up 2 rows and sat next to a nice "older" lady who just happened to be a Cook staff member. She knew a lot about the goings on at Cook and the program.
In HER WORDS (not my opinion) we were talking about some of my former profs and mentioned that Assistant AD of Facilities Doug Kokoskie in my econ class with a prof/Dean I was asking about. The woman told me that Kokoskie had been fired.
This surprised me greatly as Kokoskie, if you don't know, was possibly the longest running athletic staff member. I believe he was on staff even during the Fred Gruninger years as AD (grauated HS with daughter-haven't run into him at a game for a few years). He survived Pernetti and staff, the last fallout, etc (this was like surviving a job atop the Twin Towers on 9/11 and being hit and killed by a bicycle). He was like the RU version of a CIA agent-he did his job and nobody really knew about him. In many years if at all, he spoke to a fan club (despite being a "hero" football player) once or twice. Besides myself possibly, never remember seeing his name on this board.
The lady Cook staff member said Kokoskie was near retirement and Hobbs fired him. Said Hobbs was a J*rk. Asked her if Hobbs was like his buddy Chris Christie? She didn't answer that one. ***This was the 1st negative connotation I heard about Hobbs from staff (but I don't talk with any on a regular basis either except occasionally from one who pretty much reports to Hobbs).
Does anyone know about Kokoskie. Is all of this stadium entry "safety" garbage and other vtrhings going on acts by a sly new AD who's R version of Christie?
Am I gonna have to break out Christie2020.com or worse Rutgers related to keep Hobbs in check? Lots of "power plays" and "questionable dongs" seem to be going on. Most not so positive.
By the way I'm not necessarily a Kokoskie fan. In class he didn't seem to like me as he took my enthusiasm about the team to be brownnosing (I WAS aggressive in that class as I wanted an A and a recommendation from the Prof/Dean-and he gratiously came through for me with a nice letter). Side note- Another member of that same? team heard (Guard) heard I had donated as a student, had season tickets and was talking with his girlfriend a lot. Called me to his apartment-I went half scared. Would up being very nice and gave me 2 of his tickets for the Penn State game that year.
