IS Hobbs Behind All This Gameday Cr*P? Related? Doug Kokoskie Fired???

Another thing I wanted to related/ask about is about what I heard at the game. Due to one of our crew members on staff "conveniently" (when you are on top staff there are lots of perks) shifting his seats it's been a tad more difficult talking to my friends whom I moved adjacent to about 8-10 years ago. Also I have a permanent whiplash from being hit head on years ago and recently have had trouble with a recurring "Pull" in my left neck/"trapezius". Very painful at times.

Having such and empty seats above my buddies (with the 3rd crew member easily within reach (and another crew member who sits with us but has no tickets in the section absent) for the 2nd half Saturday I moved up 2 rows and sat next to a nice "older" lady who just happened to be a Cook staff member. She knew a lot about the goings on at Cook and the program.

In HER WORDS (not my opinion) we were talking about some of my former profs and mentioned that Assistant AD of Facilities Doug Kokoskie in my econ class with a prof/Dean I was asking about. The woman told me that Kokoskie had been fired.

This surprised me greatly as Kokoskie, if you don't know, was possibly the longest running athletic staff member. I believe he was on staff even during the Fred Gruninger years as AD (grauated HS with daughter-haven't run into him at a game for a few years). He survived Pernetti and staff, the last fallout, etc (this was like surviving a job atop the Twin Towers on 9/11 and being hit and killed by a bicycle). He was like the RU version of a CIA agent-he did his job and nobody really knew about him. In many years if at all, he spoke to a fan club (despite being a "hero" football player) once or twice. Besides myself possibly, never remember seeing his name on this board.

The lady Cook staff member said Kokoskie was near retirement and Hobbs fired him. Said Hobbs was a J*rk. Asked her if Hobbs was like his buddy Chris Christie? She didn't answer that one. ***This was the 1st negative connotation I heard about Hobbs from staff (but I don't talk with any on a regular basis either except occasionally from one who pretty much reports to Hobbs).

Does anyone know about Kokoskie. Is all of this stadium entry "safety" garbage and other vtrhings going on acts by a sly new AD who's R version of Christie?

Am I gonna have to break out Christie2020.com or worse Rutgers related to keep Hobbs in check? Lots of "power plays" and "questionable dongs" seem to be going on. Most not so positive.

By the way I'm not necessarily a Kokoskie fan. In class he didn't seem to like me as he took my enthusiasm about the team to be brownnosing (I WAS aggressive in that class as I wanted an A and a recommendation from the Prof/Dean-and he gratiously came through for me with a nice letter). Side note- Another member of that same? team heard (Guard) heard I had donated as a student, had season tickets and was talking with his girlfriend a lot. Called me to his apartment-I went half scared. Would up being very nice and gave me 2 of his tickets for the Penn State game that year.

What the heck are you yammering about?

..Obviously "not in the know" like a lot here. Made a few grammatical changes but top staff changes (esp the longest? running staff member-an assistant AD "Yammering???". Let's spend another few hours P*ssng and moaning about Laviano Ash, yada. Frankly, the freshest thread I've seen in a long time. "Inside" stuff.

For everyone's benefit, the TL;DR version: Rumor has it Doug Kokoskie was fired and Hobbs was a jerk about it.

LOL but I'm not a rumor monger by nature and wanted to qualify what I wrote. If it were just a rumor (and not by a staff member) I would not have posted (at least yet) Also 99% on here probably didn't know who Kokoskie was (maybe as a player). As it was the 1st time I've actually heard Hobbs called a J*rk, I didn't want to start accusations. As one poster inferred after me Hobbs was "cleaning house".

Also we have moderators (rules) here and while what I wrote it what I heard I've been "banned" in the past here and maybe even elsewhere (where moderators don't tolerate opinons except their own) in the past. Basically am interested in information but trying to be respectful in the process. Appreciate the edited version but I think my tone would not have come off well.

OP, Hobbs pulling a "power play" is one thing. You accusing him of "questionable dongs", in my opinion, is going too far!

??? What's a "questionable dongs"? Sounds like a Sandusky quandary. REREAD MY POST Though my title may have been slighty "off"-I didn't accuse Hobbs of anything-I quoted a staff member and asked if anyone had any info. Didn't defend Kokoskie at all and I actually defended Hobbs to a limted extent by saying "cleaning house".

Highly doubt Hobbs and Christie are "buddies." Sure, he was ombudsman for the Governor, but that was as a result of recommendations because he is held in such high esteem by his peers in the legal community. Hobbs is a Democrat. If you go back and research the stories, Barchi was given Hobbs' name to be interim AD, and after meeting him, Barchi was convinced he found his permanent AD.

At least he left the underage cheerleaders out of this one. But what on earth does the whole bit about his neck have to do with Hobbs? He lost me at that point.

Polish it until it glimmers, boil it until it simmers, if you
have a thing to say, say it don't take all day.

Why do we need a guy on staff who has done his job for decades and who was a linebacker on the field last time we beat Penn State in 1988?

Firing everyone and bringing in "his people" is what politically appointed ADs do. How DK survived the politically-connected Bob Mulcahy is anyones' guess.

So a Cook staff member has enough dealings with the Athletic Dept
and the Director to know the inside scoop? Sure.

Need the new RU CIA guy to identify the Cook lady and neutralize her and anyone she may have leaked classified material to without excessive collateral damage.

Great. Now I'm going to have to convince my secretary to disavow any knowledge of this thread.

Why would I give a rat's ass if Hobbs is a jerk? We gotta quit with this crap. If he does his job well, he doss his job well.

I heard Clarence Thomas was at Subway...he said the Dong thing isn't true. Which reminds me, Long Duk Dong said Thomas had hair in his Pepsi. It's all messed up down there. The Donger needs food!

Its true that Doug K is no longer in the Athletics Facilities position. He was given ample time to find a better position within the University and is doing very well at the RU Facilities Department. This is an exciting position as it involves all of the construction projects going on at the University in the entire New Brunswick area.

By the way, Doug is a great guy and continues to be a valuable asset to Rutgers.

His former long-time assistant was promoted to Doug's old position in the Athletic Dept.

So am I reading this correctly. Not only was Doug not fired but he actually has a more prominent role within Rutgers?

Come on- get back on track. I thought OP was asking this board if we had good recommendations for a Dr to help with whiplash and the problems he is having with ticketing.

AHH!!! So it wasn't about how to make friends with college football players girlfriends and influence Dean's to write recommendation letters?

Douglas Kokoskie was promoted not fired. Good grief.

Between the creepy cheerleaders posts and this garbage, I don't think i want to see what he will post next.
