There is a good article on Flood and his recruiting efforts:

The author hints at the honesty question but doesn't quite develop it fully. Universally, Flood is viewed as a well respected and honest man . Before we get crazy, let me just say that I believe most coaches are also honest. This is not about being an out and out liar or fraud, people like that get their due at some point. However, there is a difficult line where the pressure to succeed and sell sometimes blur the lines, sometimes fairly significantly. I call it the "salesman" honesty bar which might not be all that high in some circles. So the question becomes, Is Flood's approach the right one? Personally, I am proud of him. I am really pushing for him and am super excited about his progress so far. However, is Floods approach right for us knowing that we will be at a significant disadvantage. For most schools, I might argue no. For Rutgers, I will say absolutely yes. The difference being is that most schools have extremely strong and loyal support from their schools, alumni, fans and media who understand the process and will be more accepting/forgiving. Rutgers as a school does not. The academic side is still not fully on board. NJ as a state, tax payers, college football fans is also coming along but is still a long way off. The media will always target us until the first two change. Flood fits us. I don't know if a different sort of coach could succeed here.
Happy 4th of July folks, let's not forget how this country was built and the sacrifices that were made. hmmm maybe Flood can be our Washington some day....though he would need to do whole hella lot better with Trenton lol .....
