....the Howard players who were carried off the field yesterday. From our seats, at a fair distance, it looked like one or two of them fell without being hit. Was it the heat that got to them? We could see the mist-maker (or whatever it's called) behind the RU players but couldn't tell from across the field if Howard players had the same thing going.

Anybody know their status?

I read that he travelled home with the team.

The final injury seemed to be the most serious, from the reaction of the players. On the radio 710, later on in the game they said reports were that he seems to be ok.

"When I came on the field he had problems moving his lower extremities, then he started moving," Harrell said. "I think he will be fine. He moved through all the necessary tests and he seems to be OK."

Blanchard was to accompany the team back to Washington, Harrell said.

The first was cramps...never returned. The last and most serious was a back injury, but he was moving arms and legs and (as indicated above) was to return home with the team. Good news. Never hear about the 2nd one who went down after Grant's 21 yd. TD run. Don't know if it was interior line or the guy who ankles were broken by the cutback.
