At an applebee's in Gerogia he threatened to kill a woman along with 4 of his teammates. While the investigation is going on not a single one of them is even suspended.

Could you imagine this happened here? Politi would be screaming to shut down the program, OTL would run a special on Rutgers players having no regard for human life but how does the media react to this? NOTHING. What a cess pool of slimy sleezeball reporters we have in this area.

Horrible incident. In NJ the media would demand the program be shut down due to administration and coaches not controlling kids. That is why Rutgers will never get a big name coach. Open to too much blame for things out of their control.

Hold on, they allegedly threatened to kill a woman. They're still innocent until proven otherwise.

Our guys are guilty. They were guilty before they committed any crimes. We don't need courts and all that nonsense in NJ.

who the heck cares about the details -- I'm sure Politi thinks it's Flood's fault.

I agree with the sentiment that the media is a steaming pile of sh#t in relation to anything negative about RU, but I kind of like the fact that we suspend players accused of felonies. Not sure I'd love to watch guys prance around the field Saturday afternoon a few days after (allegedly) ganging up on a woman and threatening murder. Sets the program up for some real embarrassment if they're guilty.

Think suspension until being cleared is the right call.

rucoe has it right. Just one of the many challenges in landing a big name coach. Football rosters are massive and kids who play the game aren't always angels. It isn't a matter of if something will happen, just how big. An administration that isn't supportive and an utterly bloodthirsty media are not things these coaches look for, but do look at when considering positions.

We are competing against schools and programs that don't have these issues. Georgia is another example.

Not quite the same. Making terroristic threats in Georgia is just called "yelling at the hired help" in NJ.

So the SL story headline will be?

"Former RU targeted recruit Isiaih Mckenzie. ......

The article will then focus on how he visited, and once held Rugers in high regard prior to threatening the woman

There are two standards in intercollegiate sports in America - one for RU and the other for the remaining participating colleges and universities. Politi and the rest at the SL/NJ.com are so hypocritical and agenda driven. Perhaps they're struggling to stay employed there. I'm glad I cancelled my SL subscription after 30 years of being loyal to them.

Football is more important than anything in most SEC schools and also with many of the B1G schools such as Pen St, Michigan, Ohio St and Nebraska.

People in those states (including the media) will do pretty much anything to protect the football programs which are major revenue sources.

I have not purchased a SL nor clicked online at nj.com in a lonnnnng time.

If I really want to read something in the SL I'll go to the library.

I don't understand this thread's message. Are we saying that it should be okay for an RU player to do this?

I would remind you that this is the same university that had a lawyer plead in a 1982 court case concerning a fired professor because she wouldn't play ball with the university's policy of fixing grades for their open admission "students":"Maybe we can't make a university student out of him,but if we can teach him to read and write,he may be able to get a job in the post office rather than work as a garbage man after he finishes his athletic career."

Kyk i cant take these threads. Im seriously embarassed to be associated with you as a fellow rutgers fan. Please stop starting new threads every time something terrible happens at another program.

Also remember we offered this kid a ship.

Well, at least he's not starting another thread complaining about being removed from Beaver Stadium after he assaulted a PSU fan.

The guy is an immature tool, I doubt he will heed your advice.

Did Georgia have 7 arrests?

Did Mark Richt tell a professor meet him in Atlanta?

Oh right..Mark Richt is too BUSY WINNING.

Call me when Flood wins a BCS game or the division.

And even still plenty of UGA fans want him canned..yet some of our fans want Flood here....
