James Franklin's lies and BS - let's make a list

"I told the team I saw the rape video... But I actually didn't. I just lied to them to scare them".

I don't care much for exposing this guy really because he kind of does it himself when he speaks. It just takes some time for people to see through the bs. Guys like this ultimately corrupt programs from within little by little.

As for the "lie" he told his vandy team, that sticks out to me because it's such a little kid way of teaching . Using lies as a scare tactic is not how you interact with grown men.

I'd settle for just kicking their ass every year...

It's all that matters. I don't care how many Jersey kids leave to play there. We beat them on the field, things can change. We beat Michigan last year with their stellar recruiting.

Year/UM Rank/RU Rank (recruiting class)
2013- #7 vs. #52
2012- #6 vs. #21
2011- #28 vs. #29
2010- #17 vs. #49
2009- #10 vs. #38

Win on the field, and our recruiting will improve.

you are right....but at the end of the day....its not about what PSU, OSU, Michigan, Michigan State, Maryland, and Indiana recruit..

It is about what WE recruit and how well we develop those recruit to compete on the field.

Most of those schools will ALWAYS get there share...and we are not keeping every player in Jersey home...no matter if we become RutgersAL's "The USC of the East"

Its about what we do...if we recruit enough...and if what we recruit can be developed to COMPETE and BEAT our Big Ten east rivals.

Sorry, but, in catch-22 fashion - we will not win on the field in a meaningful way until our recruiting gets better - much better.

Worked for Wisconsin and Michigan State before they became major powers. And I doubt their fanbases have as many whining crybabies as Rutgers.

I think they want to play for a winner........AND get a great education to boot!
Let's be honest, PSU is better cause of INVESTMENT. Not just now but over the last 40 years. It is not even close. Even now PSU budget is 50% greater than RU's. Money changes everything in big time athletics.

Yes, I think Franklin will fail at Penn State. He will have all the resources he needs, the tradition he needs, the freedom to hire any assistants he needs and he will fail.

not with that cupcake schedule...

http://www.fbschedules.com/2015/05/...wont-play-power-non-conference-opponent-2015/

Penn State

2015 Non-Conference Opponents: at Temple (Sept. 5), vs. Buffalo (Sept. 12), vs. San Diego State (Sept. 26), vs. Army (Oct. 3)

2015 is Penn State’s second consecutive season without a Power foe outside of Big Ten play. It’s last such game came in 2013 when it opened up with a win over Syracuse in East Rutherford, N.J.

The Nittany Lions have Pitt scheduled from 2016-2019 and then pick-up future games vs. Virginia Tech (2020 and 2025) and West Virginia (2023-24).

So they won't play a tough OOC game until 2020!

So Penn State is pretending to be in the Big East now?

Rutgers is only one of 17 schools that play two Power 5 schools in our OOC for 2015 and we also have the hardest schedule in the entire Big Ten.

Far from a Penn State football fan. I just find it entertaining that you're ripping an unproven coach for employing a strategy that our highway robber used.

Actually, for as questionable as Franklin is, at least he beat his cupcakes in his first year of coaching.

Local Shill is better than this.

Bashing PSU for no reason is the least common denominator for bad behavior among RU fans. We should aim higher.

It's a football game.

For all the talk on here of Penn State putting football first, we have our share of members that put football first, or put Rutgers football second to Penn State football.

And I imagine you are one of the ***hats who demanded Rutgers take even one-sided deals as long as the schedule improved. Schiano smartly ended taking those payday games.. the one-offs visiting Tennessee and with the unbalanced Big East schedule and little to pay visiting teams we had a hard time finding dancing partners. Franklin's ttfpers has only one of those problems... the unbalanced Big Ten schedule.

But go ahead.. bash the coach that got us where we are. It makes you look bright.

You could be right about that.
Not all Nit defenders posting in the Penn St threads on this board are Penn St supporters from the B&W board that come to this one.
Some are Scarlet Nation members that like Penn St and defend that school every chance they get, other SN members are just tired of the endless Nit threads posted and vent their anger .

Of course you have NitWit trolls coming on threads like this just to insult Rutgers and I've noticed some ( not all) of those SN members that defend Penn St, very rarely defend Rutgers honor when a Nit troll puts RU down

But will say some threads started about the Nits don't have to be started and this board might be better off without so many Nit threads.
So when one pops up, all that needs to be done is pass it by and find a OT or political topic to become involved with.
Because if you add a comment saying how much you hate threads like this being started, you are just giving it longer life o_O

It's fun to read your posts on a rare occasion. We are happy to settle this on the field. How's your quarterback doing? don't forget to bring a "gun to the gun fight". Hack may have been on his a$$ too many times last year but he still managed to put together that heart breaking drive last year. He will be better off this year.

I look forward to welcoming you as guests to our house this year. Good luck this year except when you are playing ttfp team.

Franklin 34-0 when a recruit has an offer from both Penn State and Rutgers since he arrived in January '14. 34-0! Never lost a recruiting battle to Flood and Co. I'm willing to bet it never happens either.

Franklin has PSU on the rise. He's recruiting classes are stocked with of Big, Fast, and Skilled football players.. Highly regarded recruits. Meanwhile Flood is busy wrestling away commits from Old Dominion and Temple.

Franklin is still in his golden boy honeymoon.. akin to when Number 1 Miami's DC came to Rutgers he recruited over his head, so-to-speak. The glow will fade and the recruiting will follow. besides that, Penn State has its own history to recruit off of... Franklin could have very little to do with it.
