The way things are aligning , this upcoming home game vs PSU on Jan 7 is going to be a MONSTER of a game for this years team.

PSU will be a top 20, or higher team.

IF RU takes care of Caldwell and Nebraska (on the road conf game so never a given)

I can see that game on a Tuesday night being for an opportunity to potentially get RU into the Top 25 rankings (or very close).

more importantly that game could put RU at 3-1 in the conference and post season aspirations would be well worth the early discussion with a second Top 25 win under the belt.

going to be a very very exciting and important night at the RAC !!

We'd need to beat both PSU and @Illinois.

Rankings come out on Mondays. Assuming we win the next two, on 1/6, we'd be 11-3 and wouldn't have played PSU yet. Maybe would garner a couple votes at that point. By the next rankings update on 1/13, we'd have played both PSU and Illinois. Beat PSU and then lose @Illinois, and we would not be in the Top 25. Need to beat both.

If we beat Nebraska convincingly, beat Penn St at home and @Illinois in that week, being 13-3 and 4-1. We will be close to top 25, probably 26-30 with votes, only way we get top 25 if we beat PSU(10-2) with a Seton Hall-like 20 point beatdown. PSU has beaten Georgetown, Yale, Cuse, Wake, Md and Bama, has Iowa before our game. PSU losses to Ohio St and Ole Miss(8-3) by 2.

I think if we win our next 4 we'll be ranked, but after our gimme game against Caldwell that's a really tall order for this team, which hasn't shown the ability to play at a consistently high level. Nebraska is winnable, but lose-able too, PSU is possible, but tough and Illinois on the road will be very tough. I'll be happy with 2-1 in those 3 B1G games and ok with 1-2, but not happy with 0-3. 3-0 would have me planning to go to some away games, lol.

According to Bart predictions, we have a 16% chance of winning all 3.

If Purdue stinks 325 D1 teams stink

If you actually watch them play they are a team we will roll on.

For the purposes of this conversation they are probably 80 other teams I’d rather not play before playing Purdue.

Nebraska game is a trap game. Almost guarantee win vs Caldwell, our NET will be top-35ish there will be top media hype for the PSU game, we CANNOT overlook the huskers .. win that one on the road in a crazy environment, and PSU game will be nuts

We beat Nebraska we would get A vote from local beat reporter(s).

We do not match up well with Illinois- they play like us but shoot better.

We match up great with them. Our guards can handle their guards and Ron and Akwasi will have to be handled by them and will likely guard Giorgio a little and Myles against Cofi Cockburn. We are just as deep. I have seen them shoot a lot this year and they shoot worst than us especially in the mid range. Looking forward to the matchup. They looked like crap against Missouri on Saturday .

we would have to win at Illinois to be ranked as we play Illinois before the rankings for that week would come out.
Tall task beating Nebraska, penn st and Illinois in a row. We can very well be dogs in all three games. I would happily take 2-1

We need to play much better on the road. I have no idea why some fans feel like we will defeat Nebraska and roll over Purdue. That would be nice but many I assume have not been RU fans for a very long time. Winning any road game in the BIG is a real challenge. Please stop counting our chickens and just TAKE EACH GAME ONE AT A TIME!!!

If if and ands were pots and pans we’d have no need of tinkers

From my perspective these games, well ALL of our games, depend on Myles staying out of foul trouble. If he keeps the fouls down then I’d say we have a punchers chance against anyone in this league...

So yeah, I’d be thrilled with 2-1 for the next three B1G games!

We might be favorites. But with two really disappointing road losses this year, I am not yet convinced that we can play well enough on the road to pull out a win.
It's not about you!

I am in your camp. I am really looking forward to how we play on the road against a team we are better than.....at least i think we are better than.

Do we continue to dominant 50/50 balls?
Does our defense stay at the same intensity level?

Las Vegas will have the opening line as RU favorite unless they completely ignore the models they use to determine a favorite.

Nebraska is a game Myles Johnson should get LOTS of touches. their two big guys are both freshman, and both appear to be struggling.
