episode two of a new NFL network show called" The Timeline", chronicles the Giants move to New Jersey in the seventies. It shows how a once proud franchise, during the early years of the move became a doormat and laughing stock of the NFL.
Of course their fortunes changed with the hiring of a new GM, George Young, and head coach Ray Perkins as well as the drafting of Phil Simms in 1979.

Better drafting also helped, LT, Banks, Joe Morris etc. But the team really didn't jell until a few years after Jersey raised Bill Parcells took over.Parcells would take tough Eastern guys on his team over California guys nearly every time.

He wished to mold his team into what he was, a hard scrabble, blue collar New Jerseyan.Hard hats and lunch pails.Guys who would play for free in the mall parking lot.

The players interviewed for the show all embraced their new home and workplace. They became part of the fabric of the towns they lived in and loved the passion of the fans they met on a daily basis..Giants Stadium became an intimidating place to play because the players didn't want to let themselves, their coach, or their fans down. The players all said they were proud to represent New Jersey and the teams die hard fans.

I wish Coach Ash, current members of the team and the star gazing New Jersey top recruits could watch this show.
Then they would realize that everything they could ever wish or hope for is attainable right here at Rutgers the State University of New Jersey.

The next re broadcast is 12:00 A.M. Friday and then again at 10:00 P.M. that evening
