I spoke with Julian Pinnix-Odrick who looks like he is emerging as one of the leaders on this year's team. Here is my article on him.
I asked him about taking on more of a leadership role with Carroo and Hamilton out of the lineup. Here is what he told me:
"I think those types of things handle themselves. I don't think Darius or Leonte were voted captain by mistake. That is not what their goal was coming into college. But they do things naturally to earn that title and to earn the respect from their peers. And if I have earned the respect from my peers and am being seen as a leader, that is the stuff I am going to do naturally.
"…I know what's right and what's wrong and I try to set a good example because I have just been here a little longer than the rest of the guys, not that I am any better or anything like that. I just try to lead by example as best as possible and I am going to keep trying to do that."
