One of the first things that Julie said when she arrived at Rutgers was that she wanted all our sports especially the Olympic sports to all be top notch and top twenty. this was her area of expertise at Louisville of course. What I don't think she realized when she said this was how little money we have to spend on these sports, how bad our facilites are etc. Our men's soccer team is in a downward spiral and we have discussed ad nauseum about getting rid of Donnigan and many have stated that this would take about a $200-250K buyout which we now know we cannot come up with so therefore the soccer program will be set back another 3-5 years when he finally leaves and this goes on and on for many of our programs and I don't see any reason for any change or any improvement. Just wanted opinions and discussion because having watched our mens soccer team compete for a national championship and then to watch former Rutgers players ala Dave Masur coach teams to final fours and of course in other sports it is just so dam frustrating...
