Just in case you were wondering how a 50-foot, 2500-pound mat gets delivered to the second floor @RU

I see it being lifted by a crane and positioned to go into the window. But how do they get it
inside the window and then move it to it's final resting place.

Big video update coming soon. About Time they started hyping this building up again after going silent for a few months.

The first image in this tweet is from the basketball practice area. Lots of wood going down for the court.

Perhaps that’s where it will be set down and unrolled
First you have to get the whole mat inside the window. From that picture it's 2500 pounds hanging by 3 or 4 straps being
held by the crane. Do you think someone is standing inside the building that will pull it in. It's got to be pulled all the way
into the window before it can be set down in one end of the room before it can be unrolled. I'm just curious as to the
procedure.

Maybe hoisted onto the shoulders of 50 guys waiting inside who will then carry it to it's final resting place....lol

The picture on the right captures what you are asking. look way in the back. Mat coming in window.

That's what we did in HS everyday for practices and matches during the the late 70s and early 80s, but the mat came in 3 sections not one mat.

As they pull it in they release a strap. Look how the straps are set up. Look at it clossly and you will already see some of the straps released as the guide wires are just hanging. Inside it's probably pulled in mechanically put on dollies and the process continues.

This. Its all done with the crane. The crane move it in until the strap hits the wall, and then they release that strap. Then the crane moves it until the next strap hits.
