They start shipping June 8th if you order online at philsteele.com
It will be in stores July 1st according to his website.

It's the best preview out there and worth the extra money if you are truly interested in the sport. Of course some only want to buy previews who put RU in a more favorable light. I like the sport and am interested in what Steele thinks about the overall picture.

Phil Steele was a weekly guest on Bill King's SiriusXM College Sports channel show before the channel turned into "Amateur Hour". Steele knows his stuff and doesn't limit himself to the usual suspects. How close did Steele come to nailing his Rutgers prediction last year?

[Later Google-d: Steele had Rutgers 2014 predicted as seventh in the Big Ten East, dead last. Rutgers finished fourth ahead of Penn State and Indiana and Michigan. Only "College Football Matrix" and "College Football Poll" and "College Football News" had it otherwise.]

I love his previews as they always seem to remain unbiased. This year he seems to think highly of some of our players. But I don't have any insight into this year's preview other than the standard click bait articles around the web.

I rather wait for fhe season and actually watch the outcomes of the games . Hate all the predictions it gets old.

There is a ton of other info in Steele's Pre Season mag beside 'predictions. You get the estimated 2 deep for every D1 team. You get the schedule of course, you get the last 5 years results game by game. You get the Stadium size, avg attendence and ranking of stadium by 'Home field advantage'. You get the All American teams for last season, prediction for upcoming season. He also looks at the past NFL draft and compares it to how he had the kids ranked as 'draft eligible'. He also then ranks this years 'draft eligible ' players by position. He ranks by conference each position unit. There is a lot more, but I'm tired of typing . LOL.
His mag is about 300 pages of small font, ton of info with almost 0 advertisments, compared to a Lindy's or Athlon etc about 100 pages of large font very basic stuff.
It's my college season bible. I literally read it from June to the NFL draft.

All of this is true, but there are so many abbrevs tht u can hdly rd it.

It's a great unbiased resource. You can make a lot of your own judgements based on his data

It's tough to read but has the most info. That said Athlons mags are pretty legit. Not afraid to say a team sucks when they do.

Some are good and some are bad, then others should just quit all together. Sporting News is very bad. Teams like Michigan and Penn St. are ranked 3rd and 4th in their preview of the B1G east. It basically said Michigan will win because Harbaugh. It doesn't matter UM has to find a ton of offense just to be competitive. Penn State's stud Hackenberg will wreck the league because the OL is much better. LT Donovan Smith anchors the line. Oh wait, he left for the draft and everyone knew that. I give you one better. Peoples is the best RB for Rutgers and he's projected as the starter. James, Hicks, Martin and Goodwin will battle for carries, but overall the group isn't that good. Heck, Brandon Russell is the starting MLB...WTF. Some publications put so little into researching teams outside of the top 15, they should just get out of the business.

Not to mention he just takes the same team recap for the last 15 years & adds a sentence or two about this year.

When Ryan Hart is mentioned in a blurb about Rutgers outlook for 2015, you know you're dealing with stale info.
