Kahleah's WNBA Draft Projection

The #17 was Copper high school ranking. (Copper was drumming up a storm long before coming to Rutgers. In 2012, she was the No. 17 prospect on ESPN’s HoopGurlz.) . The article has Copper going to San Antonio as the second pick draft the draft. The following is from WNBA.com (Seattle won the No. 1 pick in the 2016 WNBA Draft presented by State Farm Thursday night. San Antonio earned the second pick, while Connecticut and Atlanta own the third and fourth picks, respectively.)

I would be shocked if Copper wasn't a first round pick. You'll never get a true idea of what she is capable of at Rutgers because we don't have enough outside shooting to really let her go crazy. But we've seen enough to know her ability to finish at the rim with incredible athleticism and to guard positions 2-4 on the floor. Throw in the near 40% 3-point shooting this year and she is an incredible prospect at the pro level. If I was going to make an NBA comparison, I'd go with someone like Khris Middleton or a young Paul George. Like George when he came out of college, there are questions about her ability to create off the dribble reliably, but also like George, you can see her developing that part of the her game.
