Are any of you even remotely surprised that given the insanity that is recent events at Rutgers, all of our recruits would keep their options open? If Flood goes, so does every person that these kids and their parents have talked to for the last 3 or 4 years. The current players, love him. they are fully behind him. you want to fire him now? a winning coach because he was looking out for a teammate? They will get over it you say? it doesn't matter what they think? ok, next question then...
Most of you who want Flood gone have also been loudly critical about Barchi and Julie.... Are you really telling us you want to Napalm the class, so that Barchi and Julie can find someone else? Really? if you truly feel neither knows their ass form their elbow... you want to fire flood, lose the class, and rely on people who you consider to be incompetent to get us someone better? on a budget of what? Flood makes a million....who do you think will come here for that money to deal with the stupidity of recent times? to be micro analyzed, have all your skeletons dug up, have sports writers who's main job is to look for dirt, to ask trolling and disrespectful questions, to do everything they can to make you look like an idiot? to have legions of posters on forums who will be all over you first chance they get? get schiano back? get flood back?
ok so your answer is we will pay more to get them? how much more, how much is a top coach worth? 4 , 5 milllion? why would they come here, we don't have a roster full of 4 and 5 stars like Michigan or SC - even Maryland has recruited better than us the last 5 years... anyone you might want is going to demand a premium and guarantees for a long term contract...do we have 20 million for this?
ok so not likely? what can we get for 1 or 2? an up and coming MAC HC? This is your goal? Do you think Russo and company were worth this new guy? How will this new guy succeed in the current environment? half of you will be pissed it was a bad choice....we want schiano, bring back flood - should have picked so and so..... will this be worth a 2 years set back, to be back where we are now in 3 years?
Does this all sound extreme, diarrhea of the mouth , just ranting I guess.... I guess I just really don't know what some of you are really expecting? Will the goal be achieved with flood gone and what happens afterwards really doesn't matter?
Towers said it right, we're not in a position to do something like this. Get over yourselves and be happy with what you got. If you really want to do something, start thinking about a real decision that's coming up....Barchi's replacement for next year. If you have the access, use it. Reach out to the BOG. Put dollars up for the right man, barchi made 600k and the Michigan president makes 750k ... a few hundred thousand can buy us executive leadership.... Get someone who has the smarts and the balls who can make things happen. Maybe he decides Flood is good but we can get better...maybe he makes it so Flood can truly shine, get to the next level.... Isn't this something we can all get behind?
