I remember back in our AAC and Big East days we would get a Thursday night before labor day home game. I am glad we have a Saturday game this week since both the Giants and Jets play this Thursday night. Add on top baseball pennant races (Yanks and Mets are off) and Primetime summer programming for the non-sports fans.
As much as we like to look through Scarlet glasses the casual fan will watch pro-sports in the NYC area ahead of Rutgers most times. Casual sports fans whose non-sports spouses prefer Big Brother, Mistresses, Food Fighters, or other non-sports programming will miss the game too.
At least on a Saturday afternoon the casual fans can tune in.
