It's debatable as to whether pulling a QB in his first game is a good thing to do. I understand both sides, and there's no guarantee Rettig wouldn't have made mistakes. You do remember the ball he threw directly to the linebacker early in the Norfolk State game, right? And Laviano had a good second half. Since he's the starter, and since WSU isn't a conference game, it isn't such a bad decision to leave him in and get more comfortable with being in charge of the offense. He completed 79% of his passes with two rookie mistakes (three if you count the attempted throw-away to the back of the end zone). He learned to throw the ball away yesterday, and that was an important lesson for any new starting QB.He should have been pulled at the latest after the fumble
Bad coaching to leave in a hobbled QB especially when that said QB was struggling mightily and turning the ball over.

Umm. No.+1. But I don't think he'll ever be able to stretch the field. Long drives w/o big plays tend to get derailed.
Caroo must be kicking himself in the ass. I can see the pre-draft articles now: "NFL Scouts Say Drop in Production turns Former First Round Lock Into Mid to Late Round Pick"
No. Two different thing, genius. You are not that smart or prescient.Umm, do you want to re-think this post?
Maybe, but Caroo was just suspended..... By Coach Flood+1. But I don't think he'll ever be able to stretch the field. Long drives w/o big plays tend to get derailed.
