Looking ahead at what’s possible...
For the second game in a row, we get the benefit of something it feels like we rarely do, where the other team, Illinois, will actually have played more recently than us. I think we had more legs than Penn State in the 2nd half and it helped. Illinois has a tough game on the road at Wisconsin, then will be arriving home early Thursday morning ahead of a really quick turnaround for our 12 noon game Saturday. That bodes well for us, though we have to travel which balances it out a bit.

After that, we should be able to take down an Indiana team at home that was throttled by Wisconsin.

Minnesota’s resume outside of beating a now struggling Ohio State is not impressive.

At Iowa is tough if they shoot well, but unless they start getting injured players back they are pretty limited, as shown with their loss to Nebraska.

Need to take care of Nebraska at home.

Purdue, at home, is one we will be favored in easily if we keep winning.

In fact, we’ll be favored in all those games leading up to Michigan if we keep winning, and if we win each game until Feb 1, we’d face Michigan at MSG (maybe Geo’s first game back?) with a gaudy record of 18-3, likely ranked in the top 10, and with more people rooting on Rutgers than the other team (keep in mind it’s not Michigan wrestling us beforehand but Penn State, so Rutgers is the school with the double draw). And if that’s our record, we’d probably be favored against Michigan, too

Understand quite well we likely won’t win the next 6 in a row...but who knows...which of those games wouldn’t we be at least slightly disappointed/frustrated to lose? Fun times.

We won’t beat Iowa on the road. But I think we can win the next three. Let’s start there.

I am believing that shooting stats from our opponents are not as nearly conclusive to making a prediction. Our D just stifles them!
Some of the shots by PSU in the second half were brutal.

That’s a bold statement to make, given we annihilated them on the road last year and most would agree this year’s team is better. And that Iowa just lost yesterday to a Nebraska team we blew out on the road.

I am kind of happy that this game was on a Tuesday. Any hope of being in the top 25 next week means playing hard this Saturday.

Our team really does not like Iowa, so I don't think they will be unmotivated.
i agree. I'm with them. There are some teams in this conference that I relish watching our team beat. Penn State is one. Iowa might be next on the list.
