Louisville women’s basketball team fools Duke into defending wrong basket

He did it to Rutgers, as well, years ago when he first was coaching Louisville.

Always wondered if he ever tried it again.

no offense but I've prided myself on attending basically every home game from 2005-2014 and I watched nearly every away game when possible. If that actually happened I don't recall it, and (no offense but this is the internet) won't believe till i see a video or link

I can't find proof, but someone on the UConn board said it was in the BE tourney. In seeing if I could find a mention of it, I discovered that Walz attempted the play on Connecticut some years back, but referee Dee Kantner ruined it by saying "wrong end" to the players (of course, Geno claims he was prepared for it anyway, says Walz was quite mad when Dee ruined it).

My wife and I attended every home game and a majority of away games for the period from Vivian's arrival until maybe 2010, although we didn't generally attend games in Connecticut after Cappie-gate. I actually don't remember if we were at the game where Walz did it or at home, I only remember it happening. I also remember another game where he did a "hack-a-Kia" strategy and the player doing the hacking was over-the-top.
