Love seeing it go up in smoke...

I am forced to root against Notre Dame because my friend is a die hard ND fan and he mocks me about my RU team. He will be upset with this loss and it is equal to the Rutgers loss. A loss is a loss.

Please, we are in no position to name call any program even the Golden Domers which I hate also.I hope I get to see Rutgers play in that type of game once again.

Nothing to do with that, my friend, just a statement against the annual Big TV conspiracy to annually over-rank Notre Lame. Done so in order that they have an easier path to big bowls, in which they are then unceremoniously BLOWN OUT

Brian Kelly always has a solid team....they gave up a lot of points tonight, but they're going to win a lot of games. I can't root for ND, because I'm too accustomed to growing up with casual fans that default to be ND fans.

no way man....... Texas was just underrated. At worst ND should move up to #9 with Texas at #10 (since it was essentially a tie and they were playing in a clearly hostile environment).

The TV conspiracy pre-dates Brian Kelly, by... I don't know... about 50 years..

Considering Notre Lame has an unlimited budget, they're always terrible. They should drop out of the rankings after this loss, but they won't. Last year, they were ranked throughout the season despite only beating one ranked team which was Navy. And Navy dropped out of the rankings by the end of the season.

ND also took a huge hit with USC getting crushed. The only chance they now have to be relevant is beating Mich St and Stanford and having those teams challenge/win for their conf titles.

Could not agree with you more. The Fighting Frenchies are over rated every single year. And then they crash land. It never fails. I enjoy the crash landing part though. None more so than the thrashing Alabama gave them a few years back. Perfect example of inflating their ranking to get them in a post season game they don't belong in. Where they get blown out. Ar one point in recent memory they went 0 - 9 in bowl games.

Texas is a football-centric culture, for sure. And, at UT, they are most definitely "all in" when it comes to supporting their team. Outsiders may roll their eyes at the sights on game day. But, hey, gotta love that UT spirit.

Agree. I have to ask why too.

Listen, I get the whole anti-Texas thing, trust me, but first off they're playing Notre Dame, so the initial hate goes out the window right there for me. Second, if you love college football, as I do, that game/stadium/atmosphere, was a perfect example as to "why" IMHO.

Who's rooting for Texas?

I am and I did root for texass. Yes, me. The one who has nothing nice to say about that state and damn few nice words to say about the residents of texass.

Why would I pull for texass, especially since I am Catholic by birth and attended Catholic schools?
Because college football needs that ugly burnt orange color to be relevant again. Not great, just relevant. Charlie Strong is a good man(an Arkansan), the Big 8, 9, 11, 12, whatever number that they are at this year needs more teams to be decent other than Oklahoma(who is struggling).

ND is ND. Over-ranked to start the season as usual. Always receive too much hype. And until they actually play a conference schedule, I will not give them the benefit of the doubt like the national media has for years.

So, c'mon texass! You burnt orange bastards. Make something good happen this year finally. And may you never get a first down versus the Arkansas Razorbacks!

Big groups of screaming yahoo Texans are the worst representation of humanity.

And I'm being tongue-in-cheek. Relax. Still Notre Dame frontrunning bandwagon hoppers are slightly less odious than Texans.

Say what you want, but it was a very entertaining game with good plays everywhere. Give ND some credit for almost winning in front of 103,000 fans and probably twice as many elsewhere.
If you want to be good, that's what you have do in those games. Both QB's were outstanding and they run the way our guys will someday. Everything they do is quick and no indecision.
Very enjoyable viewing no matter who you hate.

Agree. Texans are god-awful. And so are New Jersyans that defend Texans for no reason.

They're also way ahead of us this season for number of players arrested.

Definitely not "defending" Texas, however, that was GREAT college football last night and I'll defend the devil against Notre Lame!
